Guest dennusb Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Is it normal that my phone reboots multiple times after flashing rooted update?
Guest ssozonoff Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Paul, Can I create my own update *.zip file or use adb-linux push to replace files in the system partition ? Thanks, Serge
Guest dreamdealer Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I can confirm that you likely will need a 32BIT LINUX! Wasn't working on 10.04 64Bit, is working on 9.04 32BIT!!!!! sweet installing now. !!!!
Guest Smirge Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I do now know if this has been answered yet, but MarketEnabler DOES IN FACT work - i have just applied it - and it worked without any problems...I could immidiately see the apps which i bought on my rooted Hero... /Smirge
Guest Paul Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I'm still investigating, but i'm now 95% sure the whole root cannot be done from Windows... P
Guest mardox Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 posted my question a while back in this post but with no aswer  , simply, can we flash nexus one ROMs directly onto the desire as there has been speculation about?
Guest neowl Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 okay, I've managed to do that, my Desire is still in Red Triangle mode, and in teminal it says 'push: files/system/bin/linker -> /system/bin/linker' can anyone help me with this??
Guest dennusb Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 sweet installing now. !!!! Great  Did you wipe first? I did forget to wipe and my Desire kept rebooting. Now reflashing it :P
Guest Paul Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 No, N1 ROMs don't flash straight onto the Desire. The kernel is different. P
Guest rassha Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I just sucessfully rooted my Desire... Win7 32bit & MacOSX Anyone installed APP2SD? Any step by step instruction will be welcome
Guest toxxico Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) is there a guide anywhere on how to create a EXT3 parition and install apps2sd. im a newbie. Edited April 28, 2010 by toxxico
Guest thephreak Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 hey Paul cant find anything about a zip file ? could you tell what it needs ? so i can continue with "'Flash zip from sdcard"
Guest Paul Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 can anyone help me with this?? Ctrl-C and try again. P
Guest Kopfgeldjaeger Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 To enable A2SD just create a second partition that is EXT3. I made a second partition with ext2 (should be better for the SD card I guess) and rebooted. Then I installed two apps, and apparently they were saved internally...
Guest DarrenMowat Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Got it working on a T-Mobile Desire Thanks Paul :-)

Guest neowl Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Ctrl-C and try again. P tried several times and getting the exact same message. Does it matter that I'm running in VirtualBox (i've enabled the USB within linux, rather than my Windows host)?
