Guest FrancisFuku Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Have you installed the drivers, which come with HTC Sync ?
Guest Need_A_Username Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Hi Paul, in my case step 2 say's "no device found" what can this be? Are u using windows? Cause I had the same problem. Then I edited the script as described a couple of posts above this, and I ran the file through an elevated command prompt. This means opening the cmd "as administrator" Hope this helps
Guest hanscol Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 what is the difference between r4 and r5?
Guest Need_A_Username Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 what is the difference between r4 and r5? When you disconnect your device while in recovery, it will still stay in recovery
Guest laserman123 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 >>>Hi Paul, in my case step 2 say's "no device found" what can this be?<<< This happened to me. I just pulled usb cable from PC for 10 seconds then plugged in again. All was good after. I think it is safer to boot phone to recovery THEN connect to pc. Wait about 20 seconds then run the recovery-*. bat file.
Guest irishandrew Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 when im using Modaco R3 now with 1.21, should i now choose the second zip when i wanna try another rom? i had 0.75 and 1.15 before i rooted my phone Nooooo! Make sure you use the images for HBOOT 0.75 - Do not use the 0.80 ones! Disregard the bit about 1.15 etc. Your HBOOT will still be 0.75, and it's not something you want to update :-)
Guest ZiCoN Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 I'm still trying working on that, primarily with my HTC contacts... P Thats the best news I've heard for days!! Thanks Paul! Here's to hoping!
Guest vrodic Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) Thats the best news I've heard for days!! Thanks Paul! Here's to hoping! Hi, since your phone was bricked, do you have some comments on my post on http://android.modaco.com/content-page/307...-a2sd/page/700/, about USB connection types? (Direct link to a post doesn't work if pasted here for some reason) Edited May 24, 2010 by vrodic

Guest SlavaS Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Hello! What version of firmware after receiving Root with r5, 1.15 or 1.21?
Guest shurid Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) Nooooo! Make sure you use the images for HBOOT 0.75 - Do not use the 0.80 ones! Disregard the bit about 1.15 etc. Your HBOOT will still be 0.75, and it's not something you want to update :-) My hboot version was 0.75, by mistake I applied the 2nd option and now its 0.80. But every thing seems to be working just fine. I have completed the rooting and the custom ROM. Will that be a problem ? I shouldn't have done it ? and if there a way to revert back to hboot 0.75 ? Guest Ulrar Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Mh, I've booted on my gentoo for root my phone, but I have problems. First, I have a non operator phone, just brought on the net, so I can begin at the step 2, right ? I'm trying to, but I have the "error : no device found". When I do an "adb shell" on the turned on phone, it work just fine. When I boot it in recovery mode as mentioned, and do an "adb shell", no device found. "adb devices" just show me an empty list, and the phone screen show me the triangle with a "!" red. Those who had this problems before just reinstalled HTC sync, but, I'm on Linux, there's no HTC Sync, right ? dmesg show me that, when I plug the phone (in recovery mode), it detect and create /dev/sdd , no partition, and mount can't mount it.
