MCR is based on rom 1,21, if you are running MCR then this update is pointless.

No, I dont think so, when I read my misc image from MCR r3.1, it´s shows: 1.15.405.3

Same here.

Step1 works fine, but I always end up with "device not found" at step 2, either in Windows XP or with the r3-tinycore_2.10-desireroot.iso

The Desire only shows a red exclamation mark.

Yeah my misc.img says that too. (1.15.405.3).

Maybe it is a generic thing, I really have no idea?

Sorry mate.

Hey guys, couple of quick questions. Is the current OTA upgrade being pushed out by HTC today, the same as the Rooted 1.21 firmware offered on the first post of this thread?

Also I've already rooted my phone using the original r1 method. How do I get the later rooted 1.21 firmware on my phone but keeping my 0.75 HBOOT? Can I use the one in this thread or will it push my HBOOT up to 0.80? Or do I have to use the MCR modified firmware? Would that also cause me to lose my earlier HBOOT version?

hi,

i need help, plz

I did,

Turn off your HTC Desire, then turn it back on with the 'back' button held down. You'll see 'FASTBOOT' written on the screen in a red box. Connect the phone to the computer. and In the terminal window, enter either 'step1-windows.bat',

then i turned it off to take out the sd card, turned it back on. went to "FASTBOOT", then "BOOTLOADER", then "REVOVERY", but it just comes up with a black screen with a pic of the phone and a red "!".

Does anyone know what im doing wrong.

I formatted the GOLDCARD to FAT(recomended) afer 'step1-windows.bat', like ur suppose to.

cheers

the answer depends on what messages you've seen while running step1, if the output was quite short and contained words "Error", then you have to redo step 1.

otherwise, nothing is wrong, run step2 while there's a red triangle/exclamation mark on the screen.

Quick question regarding goldcard: Should I make my "main" SD card my goldcard (and therefore leave it in the phone for future flashing) or keep it separate (and so swap it in and out as needed)?

Using Win7 x64

If you check this very thread, jut a few pages back, you'll find a 'step1-windows-fixed.bat' for download. This will help make the problem go away. I still got this issue, even with the 'fixed' bat - just had to re-run.

However, I now can't get my computer to recognise the device for step 2! Below is the feedback I get from the command window:

Didn't try it yet, it should work, I am waiting for one answer:

can I put in Tiny Core Linux in Desire folder instead of rootedupdate.zip modaco r3.1 ROM, I will also rename it to rootedupdate.zip, and will delete the stock one?

After I get it I will root it:)

You DO NOT need goldcard if you have unlocked phone(just skip that step)

Why you don't use Tiny Linux as I said..it should be safer....
