Thanks Hi, Take a look at "Titanium Backup". If you have root this app should do the trick. Titanium Backup (root) Greetings, TSpark

Titanium Backup (root) Greetings, TSpark Thanks, so I'm guessing this will allow me to restore my config after a rom upgrade.

Guest aherbjornsen
Titanium backup doesnt seem to work on my rooted desire. Error message saying the device isnt rooted! Anyone else experience this? Mine did say the same, then it suggested it might be caused by a wrong busybox and suggested an upgrade. I did OK this and it automatically performed the download and install of the new busybox. After that everything worked fine.

Guest zeroprobe
Titaniumbackup doesn't seem to save the layout and widgets. Any other options, or is the location known where the data for this gets saved.
Guest zeroprobe
I created a new home screen at 10:40. This file stores all of the homescreen config ./data/data/com.htc.launcher/databases: -rw-rw---- nobody nobody 84992 2010-05-01 10:40 launcher.db I reset my phone and replaced my backup launcher.db , My home screens were now correctly restored . When I restored the file I did a chmod 660 to set the correct permissions and changed the owner using chown nobody However I couldn't replace the group owner from root to nobody. This didn't seem to be a problem though. Anyone know how to change a file to nogroup?, keeps saying no user called nogroup. These files were also saved at 10:40. I think for every new homescreen that is saved another home_wallpaper is created. ./data/data/com.htc.launcher/files: -rw------- nobody nobody 147721 2010-05-01 10:23 home_wallpaper_7 -rw------- nobody nobody 200136 2010-05-01 00:06 home_wallpaper_3 -rw------- nobody nobody 153062 2010-05-01 00:06 home_wallpaper_6 -rw------- nobody nobody 161994 2010-05-01 00:06 home_wallpaper_5 -rw------- nobody nobody 147721 2010-05-01 00:06 home_wallpaper_1 -rw------- nobody nobody 147721 2010-05-01 00:06 home_wallpaper_ -rw------- nobody nobody 236371 2010-05-01 00:06 home_wallpaper_4 -rw------- nobody nobody 144837 2010-05-01 00:06 home_wallpaper_2 Edited May 1, 2010 by zeroprobe
