Guest MIYU-G Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 It's: *#*#4636#*#* the bricked thing is software issue or hardware issue, since I can't sent my desire to HTC,I just could wait,am I right ?
Guest mardox Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 for the future when i have a working desire, could you tell me how to run with nohup? i usually use the bat file to get inte recovery
Guest afiorillo Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) for the future when i have a working desire, could you tell me how to run with nohup? i usually use the bat file to get inte recovery Just update the script' last row and save it. For instance, the Windows script will look like this: adb-nilezon push files / adb-nilezon shell busybox --install /sbin adb-nilezon shell nohup recovery & @IEFtm: great advice, this way one could operate adb commands with the console while still being able to interact with on it. Edited May 21, 2010 by afiorillo
Guest Normola Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 re: USB issues, I find that if I wiggle the cable, I get a message in windows telling me that the USB port is not running at fill speed. The original cable would also occasionally short and the machine would immediately shut down. I've changed the cable to one that came with a portable hard drive. It solved the shorting, but not the low speed issue, but the cable fit is not a good one. Any chance that there is a manufacturing issue related to the USB
Guest afiorillo Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I noticed too the "could run faster" olddays USB 1.0 message, but I cannot say if it was due to a particular USB cable I used. The stock one is at home for charging purposes only, here at work (where I do the majority of the flashing, LOL) I'm using a Nokia 3600 cable without a glitch.
Guest DougieB Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Quick question, is anyone with a usb brick reliably able to make calls? my radio seems to reset whenever i wake the phone up, and if i'm lucky enough to be able to make a call, it'll likely drop within a few seconds. If I was able to reliably make calls, I'd stick it out - but likely taking it back to TMO if I can't
Guest Snarkasm Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Have you flashed back to stock? Haven't heard of those issues there.
Guest DougieB Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Have you flashed back to stock? Haven't heard of those issues there. Yup. Tried TMO stock, testRUU, 405.4 generic
Guest pina Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Yup. Tried TMO stock, testRUU, 405.4 generic I can make calls, but my BT doesn't work
Guest jamlam Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) I managed to brick my Desire this afternoon while flashing the modaco kernel update.zip and now have the same issues, i.e. no radio, usb or SD card. One thing I did notice was that during the flash that bricked the phone a message appeared on screen along the lines of "No space left on device", I can't remember the exact wording tho. Maybe this gives someone who knows more than I do a clue as to what's causing this? Edited May 21, 2010 by jamlam

Guest xhemp Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 huh? That's really fast! I went to the shop yesterday and they told me that it would take AT LEAST 3 weeks if they have to send it back to HTC to repair it... Well, I bought mine unlocked, didn't take it to the shop, I sent it directly to HTC. Called on Monday, they collected on Tuesday, phone got there on Wednesday and I called them today and they told me it was already repaired but it was on testing. There is a comment from someone (don't remember if it's here on on XDA) that sent it to HTC and got it within 5 days too. Cheers.

Those aren't "commands", those are C code lines, only a tiny program fragment.
Guest hal3000 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 First of all let me say that I hope a fix is found for people who have encountered this problem. Secondly, can anyone confirm whether or not either of the following avoids this issue? i) wiping everything prior to flashing, including the SD card ii) pulling the battery if a bootloop occurs Has anybody done either of these but still ended up with a bricked device?
Guest pina Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 sounds really stupid, but did anyone already tried to do a factory reset?
