Has anyone any views on this, I tried

Antivirus from droid security - free

http://www.droidsecurity.com/

  • reports that you have a rooted phone (hey, I knew that!)
  • reports threats on a package scan but doesn't tell you what they are
  • It then nags you for 5 bucks for the pay version.
  • there is a log in /data/data/com.antivirus/files which contains evidence to support an online retrieval of your phone's contents but no specifics relating to the threats that have discovered.
  • there is next to no detailed information on any of their products on their website.

    Lookout Mobile Security
    https://www.mylookout.com/

    • doesn't seem to find threats that Antivirus did (but as it never told you what they were....)
    • seems slick and well presented
    • has a log under /data/data/com.lookout/log - with not a lot in it.
    • doesn't have a pay version ( why does that worry me...? )

    Any view? any other products?

I'm probably wrong, but to my knowledge there are no known cases of virus attacks on mobile phones.

There has been the odd thing with jailbroken iphones, but I can't think of anything else.

Besides, if there was something in it, a solution or an app would be available on here or XDA.
