Guest passion_streak Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) hey daskalos bro congrats for ur new rom , i just have few questions : 1 . ur telling that this is a full rom then howcome its smaller in size ?? i.e 220mb wiz a wiz original rom thats around 300-350 mb (win 6.5) 2 . u havent removed anything ?? 3. audio effects in the samsung default media player are working fine ?? 4 . in general is it a fast rom ?? ( coz i flashed original rom like 2 days ago , is it worth formatting my phone again ??) 5. Is this rom is better then 6.5 ROM build 21903?? Edited May 4, 2010 by passion_streak
Guest me00016 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) I am between this one and 21903. I suspect the 21903 is more stable because of the winmo version, right? Hope I am mistaken because the 6.5.x versions are finger friendlier. PS-This is an english ROM, but is there anything to do to map the qwerty and samsung keyboards to switch easily between eng and my native lang? For the time being, I press <MODE><XT9 Options>scrolling-selecting<LANGUAGES>. For the qwerty I press <SHIFT>+<SPACE>scrolling-selecting<LANGUAGES>. It's PITA to merely switch between langs! Guest Sumit Bhardwaj Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Hey daskalos, can you help me a little : 1. I wanted to know that whether Samsung Widgets are working fine on your rom, coz on the JC2 rom, i cannot add/remove any widget from the widget bar. If i try to do that, all widgets disappear from the bar. 2. I am thinking of flashing the Whole MST file of the original JC2 ROM first, and then try your rom. I am from India, as you might already know, and there is no 6.5 update yet here. Now, MST file I think has eboot and pda portions, so what do you think are the chances that it will work on my phone. I use US English regional settings here. Do you have any idea that eboot is region specific? The only hurdle that I have in flashing a 6.5 rom is this eboot coz the 6.1 eboot is setting the pagepool and other mem settings too high to use comfortably with 6.5. I think CSC is region specific but eboot is not. What do u say?

Try flashing this ROM only (PDA part) and see if all is well without flashing eboot. Since the ROM dump which this ROM was made from is English, you will have it in English too

Since the ROM dump which this ROM was made from is English, you will have it in English too Actually I have flashed the PDA.nb0 part of the original JC2 rom. It worked fine except for the ram issue. I got about 45 MB of ram with WidgetPlus interface. For some reasons i love this interface over titanium and want to use it. After using Windows Lock the ram fell to 18 MB within half an hour and apps started to close. I also got the widgets issue. If i try to add more widgets to the widget bar by going to settings, all the additional widget names were absent and if i chose any one of them, all the widgets vanish from the widget bar. This is not the case with users who flashed the full rom with eboot, CSC and pda. They are not reporting any of these issues. Thats why I asked you. What do you think? EDIT: I am sorry but I am asking these questions regarding the WM 6.5 build 21903 ROM of yours. Sorry to post in wrong thread. Edited May 4, 2010 by Sumit Bhardwaj

Sorry to post in wrong thread. in my case, since my first custom rom back then, i haven't flash my eboot and csc, I'm still using my stock... Ram is adjusted in my custom rom, so you will get more ram even if you don't flash the eboot
Guest darthveda Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 viewing sms text messages in the normal win mo interface (not the samsung viewer) does not display all the text conversations in that subject. Even though I enabled the threaded view by registry. It displays fine when viewing through samsung text interface.

Guest Russian-Patriot Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 1. Will you please extract new Samsung programs (FM, Touch Player at least) so we can install them in 6.5 build or they wouldn't install? Or they got only changes in appearance (no boost in speed)?
Guest Sumit Bhardwaj Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) Hi Daskalos, I flashed the PDA.nb of your Modified JC2 ROM just now. Fabulous job, i must say. Ram is about 70 MB, and 150 MB storage, all fine. But I am having the same problem with TouchWiz and Samsung Today interface. Both of them are not working. Samsung today is not showing up on today screen at all and touchwiz is giving the same all-widgets-gone problem I told u before. Could this be because of the CSC i am using from my old 6.1 ROM? Any fixes? EDIT: Caller ID is also not displaying correctly, appearing garbled :P Edited May 4, 2010 by Sumit Bhardwaj
Guest ls210886 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 hi, I'm going to try your rom tomorrow, but I already Know that it's great. only few question: do you resolve the sensor problem?? i have to put the HTCSensorSDK.dll to do work the Gsensor?? how i can use the Gsensor app?? like mtoolbox,TouchLockPro, Ginvader, shaketosend ecc ... what kind of NET FrameWork there is?? and smi_wm_std_sdk ?? and the last if i want the italian language in this rom i have to use the csc original jc2 and select italian on octans 2.11?? thanks for your time and your work
Guest Cicis Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 just flashed this rom last night. i don't know if its just me but i think the latest 6.5 build is a bit more responsive. still checking though.. :P

Guest ttrevelian Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 Thanks for keeping our devices up to date with the latest releases I have been using your roms for a while now and there are a couple of things I have to ask 1. How to change the startup animation? ( I have installed cab versions and also used JWMD but they dont seem to work) for example: metro startup 2. Do you know how to make the rhodium dialer to work with your roms? ( my brother has a Touch pro and I really like the feature to call several people at once) 3. What comm manager do you personally think is best? ( I am using Xperia X2 comm manager right now which I thing is better than samsung thanks in advance

You need to rename gif file in the metro cab to power_on.gif 2. I haven't tested it yet 3. Almost all comm managers have the same functions, so choosing one really now depends on what is visual appealing to your taste and style Edited May 5, 2010 by daskalos
Guest ttrevelian Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 thanks for the fast reply. I'll try renaming the file

Guest FaTa1-Err0r Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 I really like the speed of this ROM, but I can't get my keyboard mapped correctly. This a picture of my keyboard layout: With a € sign in stead of the $ sign, the rest is like the picture. Does anyone have a working CSC for this layout and which language to select? Thanks!
Guest RainerRabe2 Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 Check on the official jc2 thread, I think they discussed it there, it's the samsung apps' fault :P do you happen to have the link? is it B7610 or Omnia II thread?
