Guest Pyr0x64 Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Oh, I quite like that, and how did you get your WiFi indicator in colour? it came with the battery mod as well as the usb debugging 'cog' icon [edit] just noticed the new bluetooth icon too, grey when turned on, blue when paired/connected, and a green coloured GPS icon (similar to the wifi one) [edit] i did the manual install method, but the signed update zip should work too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679937 do not install this on any odexed roms Edited May 13, 2010 by Pyr0x64
Guest irishandrew Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Had some issues with R3 - did an upgrade install with no wipe - all seemed fine except Accounts & Sync would cause a crash and revert to "quietly brilliant" then restart Sense. Only change I made in the kitchen options was to include Peep - I left it out for R2. Otherwise everything identical, including A2SD+ (which was working perfectly). Decided to reflash with a full wipe of everything - gets stuck in a loop at the quietly brilliant boot screen. Tried rebaking a number of times (up to about 21.50 I think so may have missed the last version), but to no avail. Nandroid backup restores R2 without issue. Did then try and flash the battery indicator update.zip on my restored R2 and ended up in a loop again... perhaps something a miss with my recovery partition? <-edit, read thread properly and see it's an odex/deodex issue. A clean flash of R2 won't boot either until I remove my SD card (guessing there is a conflict of sorts with A2SD+??) although with a Nandroid restore it works fine (and A2SD+ is working, and yes the SD card is partitioned in correct order, done from recovery menu). Tis late, maybe I'm missing something. At least I think will stay on my restored R2 until a later version appears! Cheers, Andrew. Edited May 13, 2010 by irishandrew
Guest The_IMF Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Strange... I upgraded from r1 to r3 and I have everything there apart from the Navigator... anyone else notice this or is it just me? A2SD+ seems to be functioning fine for me too.

Cheers, Andrew. when you say you wiped everything, did you repartition your sd card in recovery again, or reformat the ext partition in linux? i was running r2 before r3... after running titanium backup and copying the r3 rom to my fat32 partition, i turned off my phone and took out the sd card, put it in an adapter and formatted the ext partition in ubuntu with gparted then i put the sd card back into the phone, turned it on while holding down the volume down button, switched to recovery, flashed r3, rebooted, restored my backup and everything is working if you are talking about the round battery icon from the xda link i posted, it will not work on an r2 rom as they are odexed. this was why i was asking for a deodex option in the kitchen earlier in this thread and happy to see that the r3 test is deodexed at the moment :) Edited May 13, 2010 by Pyr0x64

And yes, I read the thread properly after trying a quick flash to see it was a problem with it R2 being Odexed - apologies! Interestingly on my recovered R2 image "Accounts & Sync" FC's (not the same reboot of rosie as in R3, but certainly cannot access it). Tomorrow I will retry with a fresh bake, and mount my USB in linux to format in gparted and see if that helps. Thanks, Andrew.
Guest afiorillo Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 A2SD has nothing to do with the available remaining memory you saw through Advanced Task Killer. ATK shows the remaining memory (RAM), but A2SD helps to reduce the use of the ROM, different things. Let's call things the right way, ROM stands for Read Only Memory: the memory that gains advantages by A2SD is the "flash RAM" used by the Desire for storage purposes. :)

Guest Ediso_On27 Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 I have similar problem but, i cant get it to work. When i connect to PC, phone is charging but windows dont detect nothing. I also baked rom with Sync. Any ideas what can i do to get to phone storage ? thanks Just want to say that it was not by any means ROM problem, but looks like that USB cable from car adaptor is only for charging. When i used original one, all worked OK. Damn costs savings :)
