Hi Paul...

I have flashed my phone with the r3 kitchen ROM. All went well, the only thing that didn´twork was HTC Sync. I tried the r2 kitchen ROM afterwards, and that is the same problem. I did remember to check the option in the kitchen before baking... What am i doing wrong? I really need this option to work....

/Mikael

Update: I did a nandroid backup, before flashing. Now when i am restoring, the phone works as before, exept the HTC Sync doesn´t work in the restored image anymore... it worked before backing up. Have tried to reinstall on PC, but doesn´t help...

Had the same problem also (I'd removed sense but kept weather by accident). It didn't like it at all lol. It booted up at first but wouldn't show the desktop so I turned it off and then on again. At this point it was stuck in boot. So about 15mins of waiting, pulled the battery and dropped a new MCR R3 ROM on with the correct options ticked this time, flashed, works fine now :)

Cheers Paul.

I've had this a few times and ended up re-partitioning the SD card to fix it. Apparently another fix is to boot up the phone with the SD card out then put it in after the initial boot.

Anyone tried the AWD Launcher this morning? Seems to work very well with the Nexus ROM.

Ive been looking for the R3 kitchen for the last day or so.

Remember to turn no script OFF or any javascript blockers for this page or at-least trust it otherwise the post looks empty.

Yeah... deodexed.

r3, a2sd? SD card partitioning?

P

Paul

If this is deodexed, can I use the battery / WiFi / Bluetooth indicator posted a couple of pages back, as it says not to install on an odexed ROM?

I installed r3 before you updated to fix the navipanel.

Thanks

Stewart

I applied it to "r3" so "yes" is the answer.

OK, so I want to re-add some stuff I removed with the kitchen and remove some stuff I added.

I have the r2 on my phone with HBOOT 0.80, would it be safe to bake another ROM and update it in bootloader?

I have A2SD+ installed but not activated. I don't want to risk the USB problem.

Think I'll bake my self a R3 MCR today

Curious about the change log:

"ROM is now unified with Nexus One release for faster updates to newer builds"

What does this mean exactly? Will we see a 2.2 Desire MCR in the coming months, or would that just wishful thinking?

Had some issues with R3 - did an upgrade install with no wipe - all seemed fine except Accounts & Sync would cause a crash and revert to "quietly brilliant" then restart Sense. Only change I made in the kitchen options was to include Peep - I left it out for R2. Otherwise everything identical, including A2SD+ (which was working perfectly).

Decided to reflash with a full wipe of everything - gets stuck in a loop at the quietly brilliant boot screen. Tried rebaking a number of times (up to about 21.50 I think so may have missed the last version), but to no avail.

Nandroid backup restores R2 without issue. Did then try and flash the battery indicator update.zip on my restored R2 and ended up in a loop again... perhaps something a miss with my recovery partition? <-edit, read thread properly and see it's an odex/deodex issue.

A clean flash of R2 won't boot either until I remove my SD card (guessing there is a conflict of sorts with A2SD+??) although with a Nandroid restore it works fine (and A2SD+ is working, and yes the SD card is partitioned in correct order, done from recovery menu).

Tis late, maybe I'm missing something. At least I think will stay on my restored R2 until a later version appears!

Cheers,

Andrew.

same problem.. i removed everything from the ext partition with Linux. Then it worked fine for me...

I think he means that it's unified with a port of SenseUI to N1.

I guess porting 2.2 from N1 to Desire depends on HTC releasing kernel sources.

Thank you again, but... where is the QuickOffice - checked [x] but no Open Office after flashing...

Is it only me who has this problem?

AFAIK wiping dalvik cache does not work in the recovery. Thats why you must reformat your ext partition using Linux livecd or repartition sd (will loose all data from SD)

You might want to look up the difference between openoffice and quickoffice.

I mean QuickOffice always - no shortcut, no binaries, option was checked before cooking.

Exchange mail xls and doc attachments do not open...

They did in r2 without any probs.

You could upload the bootscreen you want as a zip file while baking your rom. I did it and it works fine for me with the Nexus One Bios Bootanimation :) There is always a "wow-effect" when I reboot my phone and someone sees the energy star bios boot like a actual pc^^

Can you upload your Startscreen please!?!?

Can you tell me how to create a bootscreen?

Just installed the R3 and everything works except for the accessing the 'Accounts & Sync' settings. When I try to access those my phone restarts and I have to enter my PIN code again... maybe it's because I left the HTC Twitter app out of my ROM when cooking?

Floof

I have the Twitter app included and it works okay.
