Newest ROM has new lockscreen, no need for s2u2

I had to renew my ROM on the Omnia II with the latest standard version 6.5.x from Samsung.

It's faster and much better looking with gchris titanium...

The lockscreen works different. If it locks, your today screen is still visible, and only if you unlock, a new screen is displayed with a button.

Does anybody know how to modify this screen??? It's ok but during the day you almost can't see the button because the monitor is dimmed.

LOL, I didn't know that. It looks bad but on the Omnia II it works exactly as needed. Why would people need a slidebar? Any link to a nicer version.

'cause when the phone is inside your pocket it's VERY easy to unlock it accidentally if the unlock gesture is just a simple tap on the screen, while an accidental slide on the bar is much less likely :P

yeah you can tap the unlock button through your pocket on the omnia 2.. i know cause i tried lol

Ok agree, it's a possibility although you have to click first below on unlock, then unlock in the middle. But ok.

But why do people want clocks, appointments, etc. on it. The today screen shows it already.

I modified the file LS_Global_480x800.cpr but that is NOT it..?

Don't forget that if someone calls you the phone will turn on, and that WM6.1 lockscreen will not lock the hardware keys, so if the phone is in your pocket when you receive a call you could accidentally pick it up without even realizing it.

This could not happen with a lockscreen also locking hardware keys and with a slider to pick the call up or reject it...

Well, I guess if the lockscreen leaving the today screen visible also dims it to the point that it's useless in daylight, people will prefer any today-replacing lockscreen as long as it's well visible... and here comes the wish to have it customizable with any item they want :P

It is already there. I have 6.5.3 ROM, and while customizing the 6.5 lockscreen I saw the 6.1 lockscreen a few times whenever I did something that was not acceptable in the code. I suppose you could just comment out the LS_LockScene_480x800.cpr, and that would give you the 6.1 lockscreen as a failsafe. I don't understand why you would want to though, since it is ugly and impractical.

Use S2U2 instead, as others before me have said. It's way better, and does not dim the backlighting (a screen tap turns on the backlight) so its easy to check the time, appointments and missed calls/preview of SMS even when outside. It also has the ability to switch between sound and vibration with a leftwards swipe of the lockslider, if you enable it. Really neat. Oh, and it can randomly cycle the wallpapers at a preset time interval.
