Guest ANDRE_Mobile Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 There is one thing which I do miss on the I8000 - copy and paste. For example in the sms text section for one I would want to forward a text message wanting time date and or number to be sent as well. Even my I900 could not do it either, however it could copy and paste anything all over the place. It's a shame that the I8000 can't do this. Because I used a section called My Text (which is really a section where one would store you for example bank details & address etc.), each time I needed to send these details I would select it and it would include this in the sms which I want to send without me having to type this out each time. On the I8000 I have to type this in which is a pain. I wish Samsung could fix this. Sending phone book info, name and number now works better on the i8000.
Guest thebass Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 Where exactly are you having C/P problems? I can copy from wherever and paste into sms.

One can not copy & Paste like in the i900, too much restricted. Let me explain in detail: Sms text: copy are listed in the menu, however only become active when you select all, only the is it possible to copy, however again restricted to only text in text box, and not above where number time and date is located. This was possible with i900. My text: With the i900 I could copy for example text from ant part word (MS) sms text really any part and copy pasted it all over in the i900. My text if you click on that entry or even create a new one still no paste function. The only way to include new text in my text is to type it in, which is a pain, because on the i900 I could do this which is not possible with i8000 now. Please use and or check this out. It does not work at all.
Guest ANDRE_Mobile Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 Where exactly are you having C/P problems? I can copy from wherever and paste into sms. Check this out and test: Select your text (sms) regardless if you use reply or even forward, the info above the text message number time and or date do not forward. If you use the menu function, for example click and hold on the text not the text bubble click on the bubble the text open full screen. Copy does exist however is greyed out, only become available upon selecting "select all" in the menu. This however still do not allow info other then text box only. I hope I made myself clear, let me know once you checked it out with you feedback. Gain I say with my i900 I could paste and or copy info all over the phone not restricted by any menu and program in the phone.
Guest thebass Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 I don't have experience with the i900 but what I might suggest is finding a completely alternative text program or replacing the samsung's text with default windows and you should be ok.
Guest silvos3189 Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 i have no idea what your trying to say but no problems with copy and pasting on my i8000 either. i could copy any letter or word or sentences and paste it in any app without a problem.

Same. I can take numbers from SMS and paste in contacts, e-mail addresses and update contacts etc. What issues do you have, specifically?

I think I can understand what you're trying to say. But unfortunately it is true (cannot copy the Date and the Time). Even many of mobile phone out there cannot do it as well. I feel sorry for you. You might need to think of using any 3rd party SMS software that can do just exactly as you want, I guess. Edited May 10, 2010 by janmpj

Lets narrow this down: 1) The text box in an sms, just above that you will find the time date and number. I want to copy this and or have this included into my message, to forward as well. I look at every way to do however it does not seem possible. If you could do this then there is just one reason I could think of why I can't "Firmware update" you could have a newer version ? 2) My text: lets say I want to copy text from a note or MS doc, and paste it into my text, which would store info like bank and or address details. Check this out and let me know?

I am talking about, date time and number be forwarded as well into the text message (sms) along with the text box info. I hope this is more clear as that what I am talking about?
