That's not a new one. And we used some parts from it too. Not matters is it Rhodium or HD2, it's the same. And if you download it, you'll see, that's just the core part of the manila. No additional programs. It's unusable. LOL, The Rhodium version is designed for the 528Mhz CPU with 288MB RAM VS the HD2's 1ghz/500+MB ram and lower spec OpenGL that the TP2 supports vs HD2. I have cooked roms in the past for the Touch/Touch Pro 1/2 and I can tell you first hand this version is far better in terms of performance and has full landscape. Why do you think every cook but the HD2 guys on XDA have switched to this version. Go do some research before you tell me it is the same. At the core it also has XML/Lua Script/Mode9 files and so forth but it runs better on lower end hardware. The packages posted on that thread are for ROM Chef's to cook with. They COULD be made into CABS for Omnia II users. Just need all the dependencies and so forth. It was done here for the HD2 version. It can be done for this one. http://www.mobileunderground.info/showthre...35409#post35409 Here another useful link, latest HTC OEMS. We can use the latest versions of: Adobe PDF HTC MP3 Trimmer RSS Hub(Then again we can use Newsbreak version of it) I can get CAB's of those 3 made up. I am working on getting the latest HTC Youtube fully ported to the Omnia II. Working out the dependencies. Hopefully I will have a CAB for everyone. HTC Random Access enhancement for the stock contact list. Again hopefully I can get something CAB'ed up for everyone Beyond those apps the only other HTC related things I would like to see on the Omnia II is a port of the latest Rhodium(tp2) Manlia 2.5 I suppose I will have to do this and at some point cook a rom with it... Guest jebise Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 Rapid81 has done a great job MANILA 2011 and its works fast and prefect. There is still a lot of work t be done and it can get a bit slow and eats a lot of RAM. But in time it will only get better. If you think 2012 is going to be faster and work better for our omnia's then by all means get it out there. The more choices we have the stronger we will be. I hope you release a cab and your version is a lot less resource hungry and eats less RAM. @Rapid81 maybe you can help him out with some of the dependencies since you got it working.

Guest Rcman12 Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 I just want a reallly usable version for the i-920.... :P I just may have to start working on that project w/ some freetime over summer
Guest jebise Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 rapid has released a new rom with the Rhodium core.

And of course it works the same :D just alot better for the omniaII.

The interface is easy to start, but the usability is another thing. You can send, receive, reply SMS/MMS? You can add appointments to the calendar? You can login to Twitter? You can add new contact cards? You can select album, and the tab shows the videos too? I'm really curious about the "few bugs" too. :D And I'm curious this: "it works that same like 2011 (i have ported it to)". You mean, you used the 2011 as a "hot start"? Then, this is not a one week port. :P
Guest Kefu Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Hi, Rapid81 I`m using Ryrzy ROM with Sense 2.5.2012 and I`m satisfied with it. As Ryrzy wrote above, it has a few small bugs but they are not the ones you named. 1. Yes I can send, receive and reply SMS/MMS 2. Yes I can add appointments to the calendar 3. I do not use Twitter :P 4. Yes I can add new contact cards 5. Yes I can select album, but don`t worry at one point not to mistake :D Photo Tab doesnt show video Edited May 10, 2010 by Kefu

Guest chokia Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 SO this Rhodium 2012 (sound like disaster) support landscape?

Rodrigo used 2.5.1921, dumped from a quite old HD2 rom. I used the 2012 build from Rhodium. Actually the landscape is supported but it crashes due to the lack of proper driver (I think). @Ryrzy: Did you manage to port succesfully EZinput? I have just a little problem left, that the pop-up of a pressed letter doesn't appear...it's a bit annoying. Edited May 11, 2010 by enrico988

Rabid is a name chef here so me saying anything i will look like the noob. I am new to Samsung world of Windows Mobile but over in HTC land I'm a veteran solider lol. Just have not had time to really get into cooking on the Omnia. It seems not so fun.

Guest willis111 Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I am new to Samsung world of Windows Mobile but over in HTC land I'm a veteran solider lol. Just have not had time to really get into cooking on the Omnia. It seems not so fun. I think the same thing, had a few htc devices and always flashed my own roms but ... big difference is in HTC land everyone is releasing roms AND packages for chefs/everyone who wants to cook their own roms. You get a lot more custom roms with people releasing full OEM packages (kind of like twu2s script). You also get a lot more quality packages .... Good example is sense 2.5 for omnia 2. How many people have their own working oems? 3-4? Rapid, Rodrigo, Enrico etc etc. I wonder if the first person who had a working oem released it on these boards if rapid/enrico/etc etc would have had to duplicate that persons work and then each others work (assuming it keeps getting reposted as it's improved). From my perspective, and it may not be like this, there's a totally counter productive attitude of "my rom is the best" vs "I just released the most perfect version of sense yet, and next fix it will be even better." Kind of like trying to port linux to omnia 2 without using some sort of source control so that patches are applied to everyones version of the source every time they sync. Keeps people from repeating everyones work and dramatically increases the speed of quality releases. Just my 2cents.
Guest eric2k Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 (edited) well for one HTC land is a lot easier. You take the latest leak of windows mobile builds posted by DA_G usually or deal with darkforces and other asian sites. You get the latest packages from leaked HTC Roms. If you have a VGA device now adays you wait for the newer apps to get ported from WVGA to your resolution. You end up with. You update what is applicable to your device. Usually a lot of it. That there is the latest OEM list extracted from latest unreleased phone ROM leak. Anyhow a Chef will then take the two and add his registry tweaks. Skin tweaks ETC ETC. You end up with a nice rom and post it. People see bugs give feed back. You end up with a very very stable phone and pro. Here it seems like crap on stick. When latest leaks come out there is no post with all the packages like that. So you can see what is new. Then the roms.... wow. You think people would make Windows Mobile 6.5 / 6.5.5 roms Copy with Samsung stuff only junk removed and a copy with HTC stuff. The only one that looks good is twu2's This is a extreme though a LOT is removed lol. Edited May 11, 2010 by eric2k
