Your post for searching for soft reset programs gives many results but I doubt any will work to shutdown our O2 as per my original question.

Let me explain

One soft reset program among may, XDA Shutdown does not allow the phone to shutdown as the model is not supported because the shutdown method is not known. Many older HTC WM devices use a long press of the lock button to give you a dialog to shutdown the phone. Our O2 does not use this button nor gives you a dialog but uses the long press of the End key button (I think like the HD2). On older HTC devices you could replace the long press shortcut to launch a soft reset program.

I have tried many that reset & standby but shutdown generally does not work. Many are designed around the HTC method.

I install this but when i press "Shutdown" button, my device just lock. How to make to shutdown? Thanks cheers
