That's true, when i fastboot the image, it brings me to recovery, I just thought it's some on-screw-up-run-recovery built-in behaviour. By the way, couldn't it be possible to run android entirely from sd card? If the drivers are compiled in the kernel, it could mount the SD card as root partition, in similar way as we do it with app2sd (and the space problem would be solved)

Me and Dodge-167 are in the chat room. But we think we're in the wrong place.

And that's very admirable of you Paul to but Bobo a new phone.

What the .... ?

Are you sure?

I just unpacked the original boot.img and .... oh wait ....

Damn IT!

Am I really THAT stupid?

If the recovery image has the same size the boot image has...

Oh no, I can't believe it :P

I feel so embarassed right now ...

mistakes happen... you did a great job!

Yeah, afaik no reason why not, other than that it wouldn't boot without the card.

Okay, there are two files that could be the boot.img.

I guess I've chosen the wrong one.

I'd never expected this to be the problem

Okay, download them here.

Sorry guys, really

it can be done but sd cards have an incredible short life policy as it is with media, think of what it will be like for an entire OS!!! plus think of how slow it will be

lol I cant stand this wait ill come back after watching eastenders, hopefully its gone further then

EDIT iplayer isnt letting me watch it atm, now im sad :P

From what I gather, android won't boot unless it has the boot.img which is pretty logical if you think about it. BoBo has done a fantastic job, he shouldn't worry about a lil mistake like this.

Boot.img is the equivalent of initramfs on linux, yeah.
