Guest Paul Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 You can access the reovery mode through PWR + Menu + Red (End) Key But there is no recovery image yet. I created one yesterday, but with the wrong comdline [i think], so network wasn't working. I'll try to patch it and upload it in a few hours when I'm at hom from school again :P The existing recovery image works fine...? P
Guest Josh04 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 ^ Cheers :P I'm still using the Amon-Ra recovery file, never changed it. Works fine for me? To add to bugs, no vibrations.
Guest le_lutin Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Thanks Paul for your hard work on this. I just went ad-free!
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 The existing recovery image works fine...? P Oh, ok, I thought there would be a problem with the kernel :P
Guest sopdu Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 btw. I found another bug, pressing the Green call button goes straight to Call Log and not Dialer yes it´s a feature, but at 1.5 you have the option to choose, contacts, dialer pad, calls, favorites
Guest robot1000 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Also charging seems to be a problem. The battery charging screen never appears and when I switch the phone off when the charger is plugged in, the phone just reboots
Guest robot1000 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 I think that's not a bug but a feature. It's the same on my phone too. But there's no choice to choose dialer, contacts etc. from that menu
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Also charging seems to be a problem. The battery charging screen never appears and when I switch the phone off when the charger is plugged in, the phone just reboots I think that's related to some other things that got flashed with the update. When I plug my Pulse in while its powered off, it switches on and directly shows the loading screen. That's a big improovement, as with the older update the Pulse booted up completely, but just showed the loading screen instead of the welcome screen.
Guest robot1000 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 I've also got some issues with there being no sound. I've tried a wipe, but should I restore the partitions on my SD Card?
Guest rjm2k Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 did anyone else get the following error at the end of the flash? Deleting files... E:Can't chown/mod /data/xbin/set_resolvconf E:Failure at line 369: set_perm 0 0 0755 DATA:xbin/set_resolvconf Installation aborted.
Guest rss2k Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Good job Paul * BigBear, things have moved fast last day. Does the new kernel in this ROM already support EXT2/3/4?
Guest bindi Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 I think that's not a bug but a feature. It's the same on my phone too. That's the way it worked for me too...on MCR 1.7

WIPE WIPE WIPE I think that Paul should include that in the OP, as alot of people are asking about thise
Guest robot1000 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 That's the way it worked for me too...on MCR 1.7 Yes, but there were tabs at the top so one could easily get through to the dialer menu
Guest robertopero Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Thanks Paul & Bobo for the hard work. I haven't got time to try it now, so please somebody make a video of the phone. Navigate in the menu, start an application to see the phone's speed. Thanks!

Guest robot1000 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Is it worth Wiping the SD:ext Partition when installing this ROM?

You can restore your nand backup, that shouldn't make any problems. There is always the possibility to brick your device, but usually, flashing an update.zip is pretty safe unless you try to flash another radio firmware or something like that. So don't worry, you won't brick your device :D I found out that bricking the Pulse is nearly impossible :P Edited May 12, 2010 by BigBearMDC

Guest vsandz Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 (edited) Massive upgrade/improvement from Cupcake to Eclair (r1), the touchscreen is MUCH more sensitive .. i can now place my phone flat on the table and still use it (as opposed to having to hold it in my hand) PS: Thanks so much for all your efforts. This forum rocks! :P Edited May 12, 2010 by vsandz
