Guest Paul Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Known issues - No contacts app and voice search FC. Fixing now... P
Guest gsk Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Thanks again for more work Paul! I'm currently installing the r5, hopefully no more restarts every 20minutes! Someone mentioned editing Build.prop for a different model name already supported to get the facebook integration working, any idea what model name would be best? Also to try and do my bit to help you guys, uploading the r5 to rapidshare.com as an extra mirror, should get some quick speeds with rapidshare downloads. Rapidshare.com Mirror -NO CONTACTS!!! Guest Stevos Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 I know there's a thread with windows 7 drivers, but they don't work on Vista (64). Is there any chance someone can give some pointers on how to get adb working with this 2.1 on Vista? I need it to test out some software I'm developing.
Guest gsk Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Known issues - No contacts app and voice search FC. Fixing now... P Just found this out! Aggg!! It's now certainly lost the 'smart' in smartphone!

Try posting here: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...dows-7-drivers/ should be just editing the .inf file to include Vista 64bit. Not sure exactly though, btw Must recommend windows 7! :)
Guest Paul Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 DarkBytePH, you probably partitioned wrong. FAT32 first, EXT2 second. P

Paul does say the the first boot takes a long time- but how long is that? I'm also up to about 10 mins now, and getting a bit worried.
Guest Daniel Williamson Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Is the updated r5 rom on now with contacts ? Dan
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 DarkBytePH, you probably partitioned wrong. FAT32 first, EXT2 second. P Paul, I wrote you a PM, reagrding the original update file :)
Guest RavemasterX Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 DarkBytePH, you probably partitioned wrong. FAT32 first, EXT2 second. P The recovery image doesn't seem to give you the choice of which order to partition in. I upgraded my EXT partition from ext2 to ext3- could that be my problem?
Guest DarkBytePH Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) DarkBytePH, you probably partitioned wrong. FAT32 first, EXT2 second. P I feel noobish. How can i change the order of partitioning? In partition sdcard i can only set the sizes. Should i do this in an SD card reader? :) Looks like AmonRA creates them in ext2 then FAT32 order. By the way the first time i pulled out then reinserted the battery the phone powered on automatically. But i tried it second time, waiting a little bit between then, and i can now boot into recovery luckily again. (my heart rate was in the highs ;)) Edited May 13, 2010 by DarkBytePH

Guest Paul Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Uploading R6 with Contacts app fixed now. Partition in your PC not in your phone! P

Oh i see, so i shouldn't create ext2 for the time. I try it. But i will wait for the r6 then. :) Edited May 13, 2010 by DarkBytePH

Guest eckengucker1 Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 formating in phone works too but don't create a ext3/4. phone can't handle ext higher than v2
Guest Neron Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 lol, I'm LITERALLY in the middle of flashing r5 now :'( Same here lol!
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 so how should we do this in Windows? do we use GParted if we are using (k)ubuntu? help very much appeciated. Formatting is much easier with Linux. Windows does not support ext filesystems, so you'd have to install additional software..
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) If you don't have linux on a CD, just download DamnSmall Linux (~50MB) and install it on your USB disk, or create a bootable medium :) Edited May 13, 2010 by BigBearMDC
