Guest Watt25 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Hint: I've installed SeePU and it show that the CPU is 100% busy in most of the time. Maybe this is the root of all problems? (Reboots and FC's?) (Some process is stuck in an infinite (or almost infinite :) ) loop.) Can anyone confirm this, and maybe investigate this problem?
Guest eckengucker1 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Damn! it's already been like 10min!!! Still nothing. I really don't know what to do. I wipe the SD partiotions I wipe to factory default and it just doesn't work...Is there anything else I could try? I know it says the first boot takes a long time but how long?? Flashed my pulse and it still booting after 20 mins :) search forum4solutions. Question occurs already a couple of times
Guest andy25hill Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Yea i posted like a newbie then found the solution. :)
Guest bedevil99 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Yea i posted like a newbie then found the solution. :) Do you mind sharing the solution with me? I just got the version without A2SD to work but I would be nice to have the other one working too
Guest superbrundlefly Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Hi folks, I was just wondering whether people would recommend waiting for the T-Mobile release of Android 2.1 for the Pulse (assuming this is going to happen) or using this beta one? Sounds like there are a few issues, particularly the random reboots... Cheers

Sounds like there are a few issues, particularly the random reboots... CheersLike many others I have found the r6 ROM to be very stable. Simple process of flash, wipe, wipe ext, adb shell to mkdir /system/sd (I also deleted /data/app/RoadSync.apk) Reboot. Installed Autokiller and Zeam. All is good as far as I have tested; it's certainly better than 1.5 (even MCR1.7).

Mine is rebooting a lot, but is totally stable when plugged into usb, anyone else getting that? Its making it hard to see whats going on when it crashes. I might try writing some scripts to log data to the sd card. Does the kernel have swap support? If memory is part of the problem some swap space should help. Guest Jan M Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 I think vibrate only currently works for 8220-6 users. For everyone else it is not working. by the right steps and a bit of luck Marcus probably meant purchasing the 8220-6 :)

Since it's possible, I've seen it working on some other custom ROM's. It would be a great boost. But I must say I'm really satisfied with the build Paul and Bobo gave us. Using r4 with APPS2SD and even though there are some force closes no real show stoppers. Good job:)
Guest andy25hill Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Do you mind sharing the solution with me? I just got the version without A2SD to work but I would be nice to have the other one working too I removed the SD card and it boots up within 3-5 mins and then put the SD back in when loaded BUT found every time i restart the phone it has the same problem again so i have to take out the SD. Followed the instructions on http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...-android-v-2-1/ over and over but still get the same issue.

Thanks for the help Known Issues * The system partition on the update is larger than on the original Pulse, so the data partition has less space in my repack, as i've moved /system/lib to data * When not using a T-Mobile SIM, the 'bottom shortcuts' link to the wrong items

Guest thisweb Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 I also agree that AutoKiller seems to solve the large no. of force closes. (set AK to moderate). Also seems to prevent reboots and freezes. Another bug (can anyone else confirm this?): I have noticed is that live wallpapers do not load on reboot. The wallpaper defaults back to previous 'non live' wallpaper. Minor issue, I know, but I am surprised how well the live wallpaper works - its pretty smooth and very pretty!!!!

Guest Speckles Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 multitouch is possible? The hardware supports multitouch, kernel of 2.1 supports multitouch. However, I don't think there's any apps which support it yet.
Guest ogiogi Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 (edited) Wallpapers are kinda stretched. Tried changing with "wallpaper set and save" and got stretched wall also. Tried 640x480 and 320x480 resolutions. Has anybody tried something else? Edited May 15, 2010 by ogiogi

Has anybody tried something else? I tried to use default one, with leaves. But it is very slow... ;) Now I using live walls from Market, like a starfield. They are pretty smooth really. But after every FC crash need to set it again :)

Guest Alex III Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Live Walls are OK. I meant static walls. Can't find the right resolution. When You set some picture as desktop, it asking you to cut it. So maybe through this way can find the exact resolution..
