Guest eckengucker1 Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) BROKEN VERSION!!! see page 51 Edited May 16, 2010 by eckengucker1
Guest gusthy Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 I think it will be only work with android 2.2 but fix me if I'm wrong. 2.2 natively supports tether, 1.5 doesn't. On the other hand, Pulse supports it (at least with 1.5). With Linux, its only a modprobe, on Windows, the CD attached contains the required windows driver. Now this 2.1 ROM with the Linux modprobe doesnt look like a modem from the PC side, but it may have many reasons.
Guest screwface Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) proper build.prop based on MRC 1.8beta Why would you use that.. It will limit you to apps that support the 1.5 os api's only. Well in the market atleast.. Edited May 16, 2010 by screwface

Well in the market atleast.. why should it limit the support to 1.5? "ro.build.version.sdk=7" => Android 2.1... I wrote "based on" and not "is the same as" Edited May 16, 2010 by eckengucker1

Guest goce.nakov Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 hehe :) does this build is solving problems with force closes?
Guest eckengucker1 Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 seems so. Basically it corrects the CPU throttle
Guest thisweb Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 http://smarterware.org/4308/android-2-1s-b...-in-screenshots I think this is what a vanilla should look like. Particularly I like the picture gallery and home screen buttons. The car view looks excellent for sat nav. Paul will it ever be possible to get these features or are they nexus specific. I thought they were 2.1 specific. All very different from the current beta (T-mob or vanilla)

Guest xarxiusxiii Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Not good for me...still force closes and phone is UBER slow.....can't adjust screen brightnes eather.. Same happened with my Pulse when I tried it... Luckily I backed up my other build.prop :)
Guest niko1986 Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 A free alternative to Root Explorer is EStrong File Manager. Just go into settings and change the settings to give root and write permissions. Also for this line in my 2.1 build prop its commented out: ro.product.locale.region=US If i uncomment it, would EN, GB or UK be the locale for england?

Guest eckengucker1 Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Same happened with my Pulse when I tried it... Luckily I backed up my other build.prop :) I've updated the file. You may try it again. Had added a line which was wrong (ro.build.version.release=2.1 => ro.build.version.release=2.1-update1)

Had added a line which was wrong (ro.build.version.release=2.1 => ro.build.version.release=2.1-update1) Nope, still the same as before :) There's no boot screen either, after the initial T-Mobile logo, the screen remains blank until the lock screen appears... Perhaps I'm applying it wrong? I'm replacing my build.prop with this one in Root Explorer then rebooting, is this not the way to do it? For now I'll keep the build.prop with the U8220 tweak, as this seems to work best.
Guest McSpoon Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Also for this line in my 2.1 build prop its commented out: ro.product.locale.region=US If i uncomment it, would EN, GB or UK be the locale for england? Good point, the English December update used GB. ro.product.locale.region=GB ro.product.locale.language=en
Guest eckengucker1 Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) but "ro.config.hw_boot_animation" is set to "ro.config.hw_boot_animation=1" what is written as "build" under settings=>phone info? In my version "ro.product.locale.region=US" isn't commented out?!? Edited May 16, 2010 by eckengucker1

Guest xarxiusxiii Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Oh wait, the "Android" logo appears, but after that there's a blank screen... Build number says: "MoDaCo Android 2.1 (by BigBear and Paul)" Is there anything else you would like me to check before I flash it back to working state?
