Guest TheShak Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Hi Chaps, I've noticed that the liquid.superboot.img in the superboot.zip I've downloaded from the AcerLiquidCommunityRom site - i.e. How to Root and Flash the Acer Liquid LCR 1.6 is different from the one mentioned and downloaded in this topic. Why are they different and which one to use? The reason is that a few people using the superboot.zip from LCR site are getting stuck with Black screen - reboot loop I just want to be sure before zapping the phone, also running Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1.bin stock not rooted. I think this is the same issue that "teo.zixiang" on the LCR site sent to Malez on June 10 Thanks in advance for guidance
Guest G_Technik Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 running Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1.bin stock not rooted. I think you should use the one from this topic, cause it shurely for 1.100.05 rom. I've used it without any issues.
Guest TheShak Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 Thanks G_Technik I guess you are right. One question though, maybe this has been answered before. What's the use of flashing this boot image when reading Malez's LCR 1.6 install instructions (which are great!) he does not use this at all. Just a recovery flash followed by an LCR 1.6 install. Am I missing something? Best
Guest G_Technik Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 You will have root after flashing LCR 1.6, it is included in it. You should use Superboot only if you don't want to flash any custom rom.
Guest TheShak Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 Thanks for the information, makes sense. Will bypass the the superboot option and go straight to LCR 1.6 (or might wait until 1.7). Cheers
