Hello everyone...

First of all thanks to all of the chefs for cooking the wonderful ROMs...

I have seen a major deficiency in the roms... Thats the camera picture quality...

I had purchased omnia II which was made in Singapore bearing PDA I8000XXIG6 CSC I8000FAMIG6 Phone I8000DXIG6.

This was WinMo 6.1 but the picture quality in it was absolutely amazing...

The ROM that i have installed till now have a much much poorer picture quality than the one i had..

So i was thinking to restore my phone to my original config but by then the samsung firmware downloader was locked...

The ROM showed under I8000 and XSO catagories in the middle...

Does someone have it and if yes can someone upload i for me...

A request to the great chefs....

Can someone port the camera picture quality of that ROM to the new WM6.5 ROMs that are now being cooked...

Please let me know...

Attatching some pics...

Thanking you in advance...

On 6.5 I achieved really big improvements in the pictures quality with changing the settings only.

I set the Measure to "Matrix" and the Sharpness to +2 and the pictures came to life. This helped for me. I hope this help you too.

actually the most recent version of Omnia 2 is now release under phone version: JA1 you can try to use it by getting the upgrade firmware version. Actually for the older version the camera works find and no problem, It might u have a shaky hands while taking a photo or you can see and check the settings on the camera by selecting the anti-shake option under camera settings

then reason why you have this kind of problem you've got an older version of your ROM, by doing a firmware upgrade everything will be alright.

Cheers!

i made out that poor picture quality in I8000 is due to presence of a very short focusing time... It doesnt focus properly.... So the pics are not nice.... Any fixes...

And for the second trouble.... The battery drain due to the screen off not working....

You just push the camera button fully, or half first and wait for the focus (green crosshair and focus sound), then fully?

I push it half first and wait for focus.... then push it fully to take the snap...

Here is my problem:

PDA: I8000LUBIH5

CSC: I8000LCGUIH2

PHONE: I8000LWMIH2

Pictures are, simply, awful, too grainy! My old U600 makes much better pictures. I've tried with camera settings recommended here, but without success. Pictures look fine on phone, but once transfered to PC

Is there a solution for this?

First two pictures were taken with I8000, last one with U600.

To Keka:

1) Don't use ISO200, in very dark situations ISO200 will make a lot of noise. I use ISO 100 most of the time, in bright sunlight you can use ISO50. If the photo turns out too dark, use the night scene mode - remember to keep your hands steady and use the timer function to avoid button press vibrations.

2) Don't set all settings to +2. For me, I just set Sharpness and Saturation to +1, Contrast stay at 0.

3) Turn off anti-shake and WDR, these 2 options create noise.

Going from WM6.1 to 6.5, I don't find there is too much difference in picture quality between the different roms. There may be settings changes necessary because different roms seems to have different effect on sharpness/contrast/brightness/modes/etc. However, fine tuning the settings and I can produce about the same quality photos in each different rom.
