Guest Kali- Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) OK, see the problem. This kernel will not work on CM 5.06 because there's a 2.6.33 kernel in it. Someone need to port the htc stuff to 2.6.33. (i can't do that :-)) cm desire port use the stock 2.6.29 kernel but a port to 2.6.32 or newer will be very useful :) (froyo) Edited May 16, 2010 by Kali-

Never used it myself. If it's a "normal" 2.6.29 msm kernel then i won't help you with that. 1 kernel at a time please :-) Edited May 16, 2010 by Richard Trip

Guest stuliv12 Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 to confirm if i want to flash this from mcr r3 will i flash then repartition mem card with ext 4 or will ext 3 still work?? cheers
Guest aslocum Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 not sure if its the bfs patch... i have some hickups while playing mp4 video in mvideoplayer... yesterday the same video was fine with the stock (r3) kernel currently using the ocuv bfs for r3
Guest Sashimi Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Hi all, one really new question as i'm pretty new to android hacking : what's this "MCR" i've been reading around on several boards ? thx in advance !

Guest IEFtm Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 What about JIT? :) That's not a kerneloption afaik.
Guest Ricky` Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 That's not a kerneloption afaik. Sorry, i get confused from this: The JIT has progressed significantly since the snapshot in AOSP eclair, and we're working on pushing out a more current version. Meanwhile, if you'd like to play with the prototype, you can build it by creating a buildspec.mk file in your AOSP root which includes the line "WITH_JIT := true". What about RTFM? :) Your comment is quite unsefull. Is there a manual for this? ;)
Guest gaeng4665 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Is there a difference betweein this version here and the version in the xda-devs forum?
Guest Pyr0x64 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 the ones here still have bfs, and don't have the oc uv patches
Guest LeszekSwirski Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 What about JIT? :) Just-in-Time compilation -- it makes programs running in a virtual machine faster by compiling (and caching) chunks of virtual machine code into native code. And there is a manual for this, it's called Wikipedia.

Guest Pyr0x64 Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) check richard's post on xda he has attached a couple of files to enable/disable JIT on the desire although caution is advised as it might not be fully stable http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682419 or you can do it the manual way as described by gr0gmint: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=684535 Edited May 19, 2010 by Pyr0x64
Guest Richard Trip Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 New version posted. Previous version had a non working tun.ko.
Guest damiensmith212 Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I'm having a problem with setting a custom clockspeed. SetCPU has recognised the higher clockspeed (1113600) as an option and allows me to drag the max limit slider to that value; but the value reported by setcpu never goes above 998mhz on the main screen, widget or in the system info menu. Linpack speeds are also unchanged. Any ideas as to what's gone wrong?
Guest dancedreamfly Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Does Wireless Tether work with this kernel?
Guest nitrox1 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Installed new MCR_uvoc V7 kernel, with setcpu.txt on SD card, on a R3 Modaco Baked ROM with no A2SD (waiting to see what comes out with Froyo), and all is good after 15 mins, with clock at 1113 Mhz. Thank you very much. Any thing I should check and post? except WIFI tether sorry.
