Heres my addition to this thread.

I swear the 2.1 update made the camera better!

rarely blurs now!

A vain attempt at being artistic LOL.

Yeah, it seems like it, exept from the lines-bug...

I've been meaning to ask about that!

Is there any way to rid myself of these lines, they're ruining some great photos!

They only occur on some though...

So is there a bonafide way to get rid of them?

I also have these - really annoying.

I find that they only appear in photos shot in landscape.

Nice repair :)

You can still see it but without zoom it looks perfect. That line really ruins pictures :)

Stock camera app yes.

I'm currently on HU 2.1 ROM, but I haven't got this lines on the beta ROM neither.

But I got this lines on the 1.5 ROM.

It's too weird lol. I remember them at the very beginning of 1.5, but they went away at some point (I think when MCR's were based on the December update). But now I've got them like others have on 2.1, & if I use a different camera app (only tried one) after a couple of photos the app freezes and then I get the 'can't connect to camera' error and have to reboot :)

LOL! I've just found out what was causing 'the lines in photos' bug (for me anyway)...turning the shutter sound off! :) I've just tested it loads and every time I turn off the shutter sound there's lines but when shutter sound is on there wasn't one line in any photo! It will be interesting to find out if this is the same for everyone else?

This is definitely one of the stupidest bugs I've come across, guess I'm gonna have to just find & replace the shutter sound with a blank audio file & see if that works :)

Edit: Well editing the camera_click.ogg file to be silent was easy enough & is working. Only problem is that it still makes that irritating double beep when holding the button so it remains in focus then releasing to take the photo, although no noise if just pressing the button to take the photo

No worries, am I to assume it has had the same effect for you then?

I though I may as well attach the silent camera_click.ogg (in zip) that I've used in case anyone wants it, it goes in /system/media/audio/ui/

camera_click.ogg.zip

I always have my shutter sound turned off.

Yep, turning sound on definitely removes the lines for me too. Strange but true!
