Richard, it's just for any 2.1 ROM, it only changes the framework, you have to have a ROM installed already :rolleyes:

I cant promise anything, my one works since yesterday noon w/o reboot.

Dalvik cannot be wiped with amon ra if it is not on the sd card.

Is the JIT enabled if the Dalvik is not on the sd card?

Yes.

JIT compiles bytecode to ARM binary, and runs it. If you run something first time, it is slower than interpreted bytecode. But after that it is faster.

Yes, i cant wipe anything, so i dont have, how can i enable it?

I have the BoBo's Custom ROM installed. I wanted to know if just updating with the r7 Vainilla Rom and not wiping the phone it's possible. There will be any issues??

Ah we miss understood each other Im already running R7 for almoust 24 h and its running smooth and nice (had only one reboot yesterday after exiting app, and one FC on voice search during first boot up)

I was asking for Dalvik only to know as info :D and I was saying that I always wipe my phone entareily before instaling any new update.

Btw, I have an idea for reproducing the radio hangup if any :( Maybe it will work, but I dont promise anything. (The situation was / is that switching from 2G to 3G while running a TCP stream AND charger on seems to reboot almost always)

Edit: I LUUUV the new framework :(

Edit 2: I installed upd7 AND framework together w/o reboot, and it seems that voice search FC did not occur. I tried it 3 times to check. BTW It is not Voice Search, for if I replace it with LatinIME or HTC IME or anything else except for KeyPal, it happens too.

i'm having truble installing upd7

I'm doing my whipe of course...

on the rom's that i downloaded after 15h today (GMT +1) it can't verify the update.apk

and the earlyer download it boots but hangs on the boot animation (n1 thing)

in the logcat i has: E/System ( 1485): Failure starting core service

and seems to be in a big loop.....

anyone one any idea's?

It is widely know that JIT in 2.1 is to buggy to actually use it... (cyanomod doesn't use it for this reason)

+ on less powerfull devices, like our beloved Pulse, i think we don't win speed at all, since it has to compile it Just In Time on the device itself when you're launching the app....

then just remove that line in build.prop...only problem I have with this build its when i'm exiting Google maps I got home screen menu force close ( I assume its taking more time to render home screen that's why it appears).

That was a modded zeam, I could upload that if you need it.

I heard it does not run so well on the later version of this ROM, though.
