These are just tips, since it's your bootscreen:

You could use the original boot-logo and tint it green, or use the logo found here: http://www.android.com/ (don't know if it can be found in a better res somewhere else, probably it can). Also I think you should blur/smooth out the droid. Another idea could be to let a wave of pulses go through the pulse-text ;).

Any plans on what the droid will do, or what kind of animation that will happen :D?

Shaping up nicely, I like how the blur effect makes the droid look like it's moving fast. Perhaps pun-intended with 2.1 being slow and suicidal on the pulse ;)

Just download the Hero one, it's the only one I'm sure that works for our phone, and flash the zip from recovery. And as always, NANDROID!
