Hmmm...

Havent hard reset - yet...

The phone is unlocked, however the only .cab files which will install are those that are signed. I have tried a few from the original 8MB card (pocket slide show and all-explorer) and they installed fine - it seems that .cabs for unsigned apps are the problem...

Strange, when the phone is unlocked...

How about trying the decert process again, but use the one that Orange are now doing?

as this does not require a hard reset.

Have just done it - I locked it over the air and have now unlocked it - give me a min and I'll try the task manager .cab

(fingers crossed).

This is way beyond me, I can't think of anything else now except

the hard reset. There must be another filefolder or registery that is interfering

with a .cab install on the security side that we don't know about.

Leave it for tonight and see if any else may have an idea.

Thanks mate.

Perhaps someone else has encountered something similar in the past.

Will do the hard reset tomorrow if nothing new is forthcoming.

Bed time now.

'night.

Had to resort to a hard reset then a few hrs mucking about on the de-cert website...

Am at a loss as to explain why I encountered this problem in the first place.

However, all is now well - .cabs are now installing
