Guest achugar Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 While I am not an expert in sound, I must say I'm pretty demanding in terms of sound quality when listening to music, even at the O2. The headphones that come with the phone sound quite high, with decent treble (not excelent because sometimes I listen the famous "sssss" for the treble) but very bad basses. Thats why I currently use a sony (also in ear) that in terms of sound quality are much higher than the samsung (especially with the basses) but the volume leaves much to be desired (at least connected to O2, with my old SE walkman they hearded much louder) Note: Im not using the player from Samsung Touch because I hate the fact you can not set the EQ as you want, also i dont like SRS WOW because it completely changes the original sound, besides that with the sony headphones the SRS WOW gives excessive basses. I use the CorePlayer or PocketMusic. The question to all those lovers of good sound: What headphones do you use? and which ones can you recommend? Especially looking for good volume without losing sound quality. Regards
Guest qtilt Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 I use Sennheiser HD-212s. They have excellent reproduction and great bass, but are too big for casual use.

Regards for years i have been using JVC headphones that you get at circuit city (the source in canada) for 20 dollars and they are fantastic 109db is more then enough without going deaf and the quality and sound is very good. Only down side is they are not in ear so you get a lot of noise and are forced to turn up the volume. Since i got my O2 i been using skullcandy ink'd headphones and let me tell you they are amazing sound the same as the JVC but i didn't have to listen to it very loud and no stupid bus noises. They cost about 30 dollars but worth the money. They broke on me once and i was forced to use the crappy samsung headphones for a few days and let me tell you how horrible they sounded you will notice the difference between skullcandy and samsung for sure 100x better. THE SAMSUNG ONES REALLY REALLY SUCK. Run to you bestbuy and grab a pair of skull candy and your good to go. Ohh and btw i hate changing anything EQ or SRS WOW you don't need it if you have a good pair of headphones. Never needed it with my JVC or skullcandy and when i did use the song sound weird and hollow i guess thats would happen with good headphones. Edited May 19, 2010 by jebise

What model of Skullcandy do you have? sounds louder enough in O2? Thanks a lot for your answer.

Guest Hiroshi.Rio Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 UltimateEars Super.fi 5EB (extended bass).
Guest mark2410 Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 since you dont give a budget or any requirements at all shure se530 or sennheiser IE8 are my suggestions
Guest kdkinc Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Are Bose "earbuds " worth the money?? Is there something almost as good in the $30-50 range ?? :) ;)
Guest jebise Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 bose is a good brand never tried them, like i said the skull candy ink'd head phones are 30 dollars at bestbuy.
Guest hsuchitmp Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 (edited) is use jbl-reference-220-earphones best earphones ever! :) Edited May 20, 2010 by hsuchitmp
Guest TIEfighter Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 If you´re (like me) looking for loud, qualitatively good an robust in-ear headphones, my suggestion would be the "Creative EP 630" headphones. I bought them last year for around 25€ after reading about them in an audio-Forum and they´re really worth the money. And while i usually have to buy new headphones every 6-8 months because i somehow destroy them, they still look and sound brand new
Guest puga74 Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 (edited) I use a Denon Reference C751 (during commutes) and an AKG K420 (at home). I also use a fiio E5 headphone amp as the bass of the Omnia 2 is a little cutoff at normal settings (don't like how DNSe and WOW HD sounds). Other headphones that I have but not being used that much now are the sennheiser PX100, JBL reference 420 and philips shp895. I also own an Omnia Pro b7610, not sure what their differences are with the Omnia 2 but the b7610 sounds more flatter than the O2. By the way I only use my samsung P2 as my sound signature reference. Not sure what other brands sounds like but my P2 to me really really sounds good. Edited May 20, 2010 by puga74
Guest achugar Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Thanks for all answers. I have a question: When i search for headphones one thing that i notice in the specifications is the "sensitivity" in db. A higher sensitivity value will produce louder sound? I saw the Sennheisser Cx300 and they have a sensitibity of 113db. This is a lot compared to the sony`s or other brands that i have been searching. Thanks

Guest redzone321 Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 personally since i use headphones with my phone in what are usually noisy environments ( say the bus or subway) I chose comfort and portability over SQ. I use a set of Motorola blue-tooth stereo headphones. nothing is better then not having wires hanging form your head on a bus!

Guest qtilt Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Truthfully, Bose isn't all it's cut out to be, especially in the headphone market. Their loudspeakers are pretty good, but that's about it. If you're looking for affordable quality, get a pair of Sennheisers. They're a well-respected brand in the headphone market and won't let you down.
Guest combathero Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I second dwallersv. Klipsch Image S4 hands down. but they said it depends on what reference are you with so if you're into rnb/hiphop/etc. except some sort of metal rock songs, go for Klipsch S4. counterpart is the Sennheisser CX series, CX500 is great too.
