If I remember right, making our own 2.1 ROM was so difficult because we didn't have the right kernel ( 1.5 used a different kernel ).

Froyo uses a newer kernel again. Is there any chance that this time we could make it by ourselves ?

PS : We = Paul and Bobo :-)

Wait wait wait, sorry for my ignorance but does this mean there is a chance you guys could get 2.2 on the Pulse?

Or would you run into the same problem you guys had trying to get 2.1 (before the Pulse Mini 2.1 release)?

I doubt we'll see an official or unofficial 2.2 rom any time soon.

If I'm not wrong the next steps will be:

- Compile 2.2 to see if it runs on .29 kernel

- If not, try to get .32 kernel working

- If succeed try to flash 2.2

- If succeed: LUUUUVVVVV PARTAYYYYYY :D  :(

The new 2.2 launcher is pretty sweet.

You can get that launcher on your phone now if you want - use an application called adw launcher.

Even better is launcherpro, which I just installed today. Incredibly smooth and fast, lovely animations and fanstatic use of frequently used apps at the bottom of each screen:

Isn't that just the default pulse launcher from 2.1?

ye kl except I didn't say it was. ADW launcher is virtually the same as the froyo one. The one I showed pictures of is launcherpro.

wut.

Anyways the 2.2 sdk is running on the .29 kernel that we have.

This could work i think.
