Can this be flashed any other way? I can't get access to the boot loader, with Quick Boot and the key combo.

edit: Maybe the bigger problem is the lack of access to the bootloader? Any help with that?

No, you need the bootloader to flash it.

Try reflash the update.app (T-Mobile .2.1 Original Rom) with key combination.

I don't have access to a computer at the moment. Could I do it on my phone? Im using flb mod 1.2 so could I use the android terminal to flash it.

SD Card fixed:

Unmount the card in the phone and format it! Thats all. (Back up your files before format, with amon ra recovery)

Does it still work after reboot or will we have to do it every time?

Install apps: (file manager, and others not included in the rom)

Download Android 2.2 SDK

Run "cmd"

*install directory*\android-sdk-windows\tools

type: adb install *\xy.apk*

:)

Is that how you have to install them? What about market or app installer?

That's put me off it now =(

Ill wait for more things to work and then try it.

Or download and flash the Gapps zip from Cyanogenmod 6 for G1.

Is there a possibility that this rom (with fixes from hungary) could be made into a flashable zip so that it can be flashed more easily and people (flibblesan) can make a custom rom from it

and ensure you don't login to google or any other services, or view any websites or do searches/etc that you don't want other people to see. A lot of things are cached in android as you no doubt are well aware.

All previous versions of Android can live quite happily with a completely empty 'data' and 'cache' partition (everything under /cache and /data) (it'll populate them on bootup). I'd be suprised if 2.2 doesn't act in the same way.

What? You have a phone which you never intend to use as... a phone?

Or maybe your one of these people that complains that their contract only allows 1,000 free texts per month?
