Guest rulerofkaos Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 i can't mount my sdcard with this sumountsd it says me that mount:mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /sdcard/ failed: Device or resource busy why is that? by the way I'm lovin' this alpha mod, it would be very great if i could mount the SD card and then I would have market and the other stuff i'm usually using Did you flash the zip file for fix? Maybe you have to go to the menu and under sd you can mount it.

Guest Tom G Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I can not download this Who can help me ? upload another web site? thank you OR send to me? [email protected] Hi Tom, This email is an automated notification from Dropbox that your Public links have been temporarily suspended on account of generating excessive traffic. Your Dropbox will continue to function completely normally with the exception of Public links. If you have any questions, feel free to drop us a line at [email protected]. - The Dropbox Team This is a big surprise. How many people have been downloading it? I don't know what dropbox's policy on this stuff is, but I think it will probably be back in 12-24hrs. I don't have any other hosting, so if someone else can organise hosting that would be appreciated.
Guest 1an Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Here is a re-upload of the file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9154820/Froyo-Pulse-0.40.zip btw, Nice work Tom
Guest Simon O Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 This is a big surprise. How many people have been downloading it? Well a quick Google search shows it linked from a Russian forum and it also seems our Chinese friends at HiAPK are talking about it too. It doesn't surprise me as the work you are doing on the Froyo ROM is pretty important to the Pulse/U8220 community. I'm divided by this. On one hand it's sad that so many un-experienced users will be running an alpha build of the rom. On the other hand it could be great if other people work on their own fixes for the various issues affecting the ROM. I only wish that these people post here and share the fixes. So far we've already had some pretty useful fixes and information provided from the community and it's awesome. Now we need some code experts to get porting some drivers
Guest screwface Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 So whats the big issues i might run this on my phone. Is it just the camera, vibration and gyro that doesn't work? I use none of these so this could be fine for me. Also i think i read that google apps aren't included?

Guest Josh04 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) I've mirrored it, should take the strain off people's dropbox accounts: http://www.postyourangst.com/stuff/Froyo-Pulse-0.40.zip Edited September 2, 2010 by Josh04
Guest Epic-Emodude Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I know that the market doesnt work to well on this, but am I able to install apps from the SD card if I back them up from my current ROM?
Guest Simon O Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I know that the market doesnt work to well on this, but am I able to install apps from the SD card if I back them up from my current ROM? Yes that works fine.
Guest AdamBaker Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Tom G - have you made your source code available anywhere yet? Is it worth creating a google code (http://code.google.com/projecthosting/) or sourceforge project for it? Epic-Emodude - easiest way to install apps without the market is to use the install option in adb.
Guest Simon O Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Good idea, AdamBaker. It would be really useful to get the source on github or similar.
Guest AdamBaker Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I've had a look at the vibrator driver. There is a 2.6.32 version at http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=kernel/ms...14bef9bd1be8ca2 which accounts for a needed include file moving. Comparing that with the Huawei 2.6.27 version I notice that the Huawei version sets HTC_PROCEDURE_SET_VIB_ON_OFF to 22 which the 2.6.32 one won't do unless you change the ifdefs around it.
Guest hungary Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I patched the Market (vending.apk) to show protected apps. Its working, its show Handcent, LauncherPro, Advanced Task Killer, Shazam, etc. But its little buggy (sometimes give "unsucessful" error) , i need more time to fix it.

I assume this will only work as long as the Vending.apk isn't updated? Are we any closer to knowing why the usual build.prop fingerprint fixes are no longer working? It's interesting to note that when I'm debugging the phone it shows up as "2.2 debug" in DDMS. Could it be simply caused by the rom being built in debug mode rather than release mode? tom?

I still claim that it is some google thing going on.

Market Fix (Protected Apps) Copy build.prop to /system/ Go to Manage Applications > All > Market > Clear Data Copy Vending.apk from my .rar to /system/app/ Restart phone Install /system/app/Vending.apk Restart phone > delete cache, wipe dalvik-cache Restart phone Call *#*#2432546#*#* Restart and market fixed. http://www20.zippyshare.com/v/76617867/file.html
Guest flip360 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) i just applied your market fix but it didnt seem to do anything, most of the apps are still not showing, tried fast web installer from appbrain, also not working... Edited September 2, 2010 by flip360
Guest AdamBaker Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Kernel drivers aren't what we need at the moment (we are using a precompiled 2.6.29 kernel since we don't have source). Ah - I'd misunderstood I thought you had hacked together a 2.6.32 kernel source with bits from various sources. I'm still running 1.5 and reading about progress on various 2.x efforts to decide when one is ready to put on my phone. We need an application layer driver (libsensors). I'm hoping a modified passion driver will do the trick (I think the passion uses akm8973 for compass, accelerometers and temperature). I had a quick look at the passion sensor driver source last night and it looks promising. Up until now sensors have been very low priority. If you mean the passion driver at http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=device/ht...66f2389f092dd2b then that will require some work. The light level and prox sensors can simply be deleted as the Pulse doesn't have them but it has a different accelerometer so that will need changing as will the device names for the compass (At least in the 2.6.27 kernel cat /sys/class/input/input?/name reveals that the compass doesn't have an input device driver but the accelerometer (gsensor) does).

Guest flip360 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) "Restart phone > delete cache, wipe dalvik-cache" i wiped dalvik cache from recovery if thats what you mean? Edited September 2, 2010 by flip360
Guest hungary Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) "Restart phone > delete cache, wipe dalvik-cache" i wiped dalvik cache from recovery if thats what you mean? I do it via adb. Hmmm. I started with edit the build.prop. Its dont work. Next try the Market Enabler. Its work, but dont show the protected apps, only the pay apps. Next tried the Eris Market Fix, but its crash the phone. Next i modify the .apk with Passion values. Its dont work. Next restart, wipe, clear cache, do the "CHEKIN" many times. And its works!!! I do a nandroid backup, with no modify (created it yesterday), and its still working!!!! I dont understand this. Edited September 2, 2010 by hungary
