My Storage - Unmounted problem (pls HELP)

was using my omnia2 for around 3 weeks now, been flashing couple of roms (cooked & official) - i had no problems then. but just today,my 16gb was corrupted while updating my media list - i cant even reformat the my storage @ the system.. i also tried the nueStorageManager-v1[1][1].1(cant seem to see My Storage there, so now i can say that the problem would be hadware. i also reflashed and flashed other roms after the problem, still My Storage problem still occurs. i also read somewhere here in O2 thread that the samsung my media has bugs and that somehow causes problems like hangs or unmounts the storage..

i will be sending my O2 @ service center..

my question would be> whats the safest rom so far? based on your experience of course.. *id love winmo 6.5.x on my device.. is it only the My Media bug or is it Rom related problem?

Can you try this...

In your \Windows folder there is a file named Moviformat

Tap it once or twice...

Then try using Nuestorage again to check if My storage is recognized

i already sent my phone to samsung service center here, they said the my storage was corruptd and needs to be replaced,.. thanks anyways. BTW, what would the moviformat do?

also, whats the best rom so far (less bugs), etc2x...?

im in same boat as you right now DRIVING ME NUTS... at least i got JE1 on my phone before my storage went missing.

i was able to flash back to official rom after converting to .nb0..

whew... i think il have to send my unit back to the philippines,samsung srvice center here in UAE says that they dont have 16gb, f theyll order it would cost too much..

i guess theres no hocusfocus or magic that could fix this prob... =c

also,whether if the cause would be the mainboard or only the storage chip?

i have omnia 1 16gb also,nver had problems with that phone..

So you had to send it to service, that was only way to get 16GB flash bacK?

im not really sure but is it the mobile phone itself thats defective? not the 16gb chip? coz if ill send this to samsung, and theyll just replace the my storage, maybe the same problem will happen again. just like others out there..

BTW, do you think that this problem is ROM related?

That happened to me with USB connection settings on my storage, after I unplugged the cable without safe removal!

After I change it back to Activesync and restart I think, it worked again!

on omnia i8000 or i900? my i900 had no probs with its 16gb storage, been flashing it for ages. its just my i8000, only used for two weeks then during update of media player list, my storage was gone, it only detected the memory cards media but not the 16gb storage anymore, after that, i was not able to see the storage again,.

btw. first time, i've tried to make a pic, then freez, reset and my storage was past, second time, i've installed something on my storage , don't know what anymore but it worked and averything was fine, until the file explorer - i couldn't find "my storage" anymore. So there was also any wrong USB diconnection ....

I have not flashed the phone with anything but the official rom, and that I did only after the second service.

So it looks like the error is not in the memory itself but in the phone, otherwise I would think it highly unlikely that I got three faulty devices in a row.

In sweden you now have too look really hard to find any i8000 with 16GB, it looks like samsung has decided to go with the 2GB version here.

I do not know the official samsung handle on this but,

We have quite good consumer rights laws in Sweden where it explicitly says that the service center have only two chances to repair the same error. After the third error a new device should be returned. I think I got the money back because it took them so long to "fix" the error (3 weeks first time, 2 weeks second time and 7 weeks now for the last time)

It sucks for those that cannot get it repaired because bought abroad or a service provider that have no clue.

Or if you lost the memory when having a custom ROM. Will Samsung redeem the waranty then?
