Guest ogiogi
Just found this app on the market. It's called "SD Card Speed Tester". Tests Read and Write speed of the SD card. http://www.androlib.com/android.applicatio...4ward-Fmtw.aspx Here are my results: Write speed: 6 MB/s Read Speed: 14 MB/s My Card: 8GB PQI MicroSD Class 6. OS: MoDaCo Custom ROM - Stock T-Mobile Style 1.7 / A2SD Enabled. Guest Daz555
6MB/s write. 14MB/s read. 8GB Transcend Class 6 MCR 1.8 vanilla. When I first got my card I tested it in my card reader (to check if it was fake) and recall it managed more like 12MB/s write and 20MB/s read. I suspect we are seeing the limits of the Pulse in these benchmarks. Edited May 24, 2010 by Daz555

Guest bounty123
6MB write / 13MB read speed, class6 indication for my SanDisk 4GB class4 card. It has 10 years warranty too

I suspect we are seeing the limits of the Pulse in these benchmarks. It really seems so. But then it's not worth buying class6 cards for it, because class4 cards reach the same speeds in the Pulse. Guest Daz555
We also don't know much about this utility - what sizes of file it is trying to write etc and the sequential/random nature of the operations.

"Your SD card needs at least 200MB free space to run the test" I guess it's in the 200mb range. Also A2SD and running apps should affect the speed. And maybe even the OS. Also A2SD and running apps should affect the speed. And maybe even the OS. 2/4 the first time. 3/5 the second... and in card reader a lot faster. There is definetly some interaction - also I copied some stuff over last night - and it came down to 12mb/sec. So something is strange. All those numbers don't add up. Guest psionandy
3 runs on the same card, which I think is a samsung class 4. 1st run Write: 4 MB/s Read: 11 MB/s Class 4 2nd Run Write: 5 MB/s Read: 11 MB/s Class 4 2rd Run Write: 6 MB/s Read: 11 MB/s Class 6 So something seems a bit odd with the write tests (and hence the class determination(
