I want to use my I920 for tethering. Under Data Connections there is an option to use the phone as a modem, connecting via bluetooth or USB. Can this option be used to tether? Does WMwifirouter 2.0 work w/o issues on the I920? Is Verizon doing anything to stop from doing this?

Thanks for the input...

WMWifiRouter works flawlessly. Among the best 25 bucks you can spend on an app for a WM phone.

I highly recommend against touching anything Verizon has built in to the phone to tether... They will detect it, and charge you.

I use WMWifiRouter with my i920 and it works great. The wifi connection is a bit slow, especially compared to USB tethering, but it's really convenient for multiple PCs. I've also used Internet Sharing, which is USB and Bluetooth only, with success. I don't know if Internet Sharing is a stock application, since I'm running AMDZero's lite ROM, but it's worth finding the CAB if it isn't. It connects fast, is free and requires no tweaking (I just plugged in the cable, started the app and connected in seconds).

As for Verizon, I know that they aren't to happy about tethering, since it cuts into their MiFi sales. But Blueberry customers have been using tethering for a while and with Apple putting a total lockdown on iPhone internet sharing, Verizon would be stupid to make an issue of it.

 It would be a huge mistake to assume Verizon won't behave stupidly. All I have to say is, Omnia and GPS.

Point well taken.

All I will say is that I've used WMWifiRouter since October and Internet Sharing since late March, and I haven't seen any additional charges on my Verizon bill.

No, you won't. They can't tell with WMWifiRouter (well, without doing some heavy packet sniffing that would screw everyone's network performance, and just isn't worth it to catch the tiny portion of customers with that level of sophistication).

BTW, WM ICS is no longer necessary with WMWifiRouter.
