LOL what so your complaining for screwing up your phone for installing a program that's not even supposed to be run on the phone.

i have to agree fully with hanjin on this.... i mean its all over that thread to do at your own risk....... samsung is not to blame....

Reading this: My storage was gone and I got it back

IMPORTANT NOTE

If nue storage doesn't show your missing "my storage", then there is a high possibility that the problem is hardware related. If that's the case the only solution is bring the phone to a service center for repairs.

I believe sending it to a samsung service center is the best option (of course after flashing an oficial nb0 (which, as some people say) doesn't require My storage space to flash.

Of-course it's NOT funny!

But we can't blame a brand because WE damage our phone....

And is NOT answer that's SOMEBODY SAID SOMEWHERE that suddenly without doing ANYTHING his/her "MyStorage" gone down...

Plus a faulty product can come to any of us (I'm a MAJOR LEMON magnet) even RR had a faulty car back...

Not happening here, for over 2 dozen of Omnia2, that's 24 of them, with official installed or cook rom flashed.

Hmm... sometime we really have to believe in luck... good or bad.

Okay I've uploaded all the necessary files. But no time to make a manual. So please, only those who know what they are doing try it out. For the devvers: in winmo change usb mode to mass storage (my internal storage), stick in into linux, change the size of the vfat internal sd, add an ext3 partition. Make sure you chmod it. And there you go!

My plan is to setup a dedicated website with the full source, split up in to braches for the different s3c6410 devices and supported drivers. This costs money and time, my plan is to do this next week.

For those of you who showed support by donations, I would like to do something extra for you guys. I apreciate this, Please PM me if you need any help and have considered the above but can't get it to work.

Paypal: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_...gif%3aNonHosted

EDIT:now it is working

http://rapidshare.com/files/368794262/andr...I_alfa_0.01.zip

--Alpha Release--

Note: to accomplish booting android requires reformatting the internal sd, this might brick your phone, I only recommend it for the more advanced (linux) users. I will take no responsibility for this. This release is soley for a proof of concept purpose. For the non-devvers: you could try to see if it works from vfat, you'll have to use mmcblk0p5, I know it gets to the android screen or make .img from these files and use an initr and mount the images.

What works:

-frame buffer

-s3c6410 cpu

-internal sd

Android is now in a state where you could open up almost anything, watch a slide show:P But because of the TC you need to press a little below/left on what you want to click due to faulty calibration.

What is in the making:

-ALSA support

What needs to be done

-hardware keys (using haret) (then we can shuw down the phone, because often you have to reformat the partition due to corruption)

-ADB/USB connection (shouldn't be too hard)

-UART/RIL/DPRAM config (to make 3G/PHONE/text work)

The first two will speed up development, that's why they need to be appended first.

Then:

-Touch screen should be better calibrated

-optimizations/speedups (G2d, G3d, armv6, VFP) + memory layout issues should be resolved. Now only 128 mb is used.

-external SD support (the s8000 android devvers are working on this)

-BT (I don't use it so it has no priority for me)

Which devices are supported?

I think theoretically every s3c6410 omnia/jet/acer iteration should work. But I know some devices will require a small patch to change the frame buffer adress. So please report back failures/successes.

EDIT: ofcourse I will still make a manual these days for the non-devvers, first thing i do when i have time.

If I understand well, you've installed Android on your device, and now you can not see your internal storage. As you see the above post by sinancetinkaya there is a line: to accomplish booting android requires reformatting the internal sd, this might brick your phone, I only recommend it for the more advanced (linux) users. I will take no responsibility for this., so I guess you have the internal storage, but in ext3 format.

If yes, it is NOT a hardware problem.

So, before you send back your device into a repair center, try to set the USB connection to Internal Storage, and plug your phone USB into a machine wich runs any distributon of Linux op. sys.

What happens? If you can mount it as an external drive, may you can try to format the drive to FAT/FAT32. If not, you need to use fdisk and mkfs utilities.

Don't try this at hone alone, if you're not familiar with Linux! Ask for help from a friend, who is Linux user, and who knows what are you doing.

Well, my "My Storage" is gone too, and it disappeared "out of the box", even before I even had a chance to flash. After that, I have flashed several times, but I just solved this issue with installing a sd card instead. Now, I have discovered I have the dust under display problem too, so now I thinking of returning the phone - sell it - and get a HTC instead...preferably Desire.... AND, the storage problem is something many here in Norway is experiencing too, so it is a Samsung problem!!

then your next move should be emailing or calling samsung and demanding satisfaction...not blogging about it... just pointing out the obvious.... i mean how does samsung know anything is wrong unless people tell them... really the obvious thing to do.... im betting their Q/C or cust support is not hanging out in blogs or forums reading about their phones...

shoot one to microsoft about the o/s while youre at it... couldnt hurt... :(

Hey,

I don't know where the tone in this thread got so bitter.

The "My Storage" diapered for three separate time on my device, the first two time even before I got around to flashing it myself. Between the second and third time I flashed an official update using KIES. I did not have any problem at all getting samsung to acknowledge the problem and fix it, other than that the phone spent allot of time at the service centers. So please, if you have warranty, just send it for service.

I'm quite satisfied with the phone, so after the third error when i got offered the money back I took it and bought another omnia 2. (the fact that the htc desire is really hard to get in sweden might have affected my decision somewhat)
