Guest wes58 Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Hi Everyone! I stumbled across this article online today. I found it interesting, so perhaps some of you might as well. http://www.product-reviews.net/2010/03/17/...g-on-iphone-4g/ I am not a fan of iPhone but if I had to choose between WM7 and iPhone OS I would probably go for iPhone. At least it's been around and tested for a while now.
Guest dwallersv Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Just another nail in the coffin... I'll be heading to droid, and that opens up the hardware choice. Can't say at this point it'll be Samsung.
Guest jebise Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 (edited) i will for sure be going android hopefully bell gets some good ones as omnia 2 was the best one they have currently. Samsung galaxy was on bell but samsung galaxy S is now rogers . I do want to try wp7 but i think andriod will be my home from now on due to the openness. Edited May 27, 2010 by jebise
Guest Omega Ra Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I will probably get a WP7, but not sure it is going to be another Samsung...they seem to make things difficult, might get the LG or an HTC

If you whant qualitty and good support go for HTC ( windows or android ).
Guest jebise Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 LG is even worse than Samsung. If you whant qualitty and good support go for HTC ( windows or android ). Nah i say samsung is not that bad, they make great phones just crappy OS and thats also due to winmo. They did cut corners on the omnia with opengl drivers and RAM but so has HTC with few of there. Samsung is continuing to improve the OS but not for all regions (canada).
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Sadly, this will probably also be my last WM phone. I saw an associate's android phone not too long ago and I was really impressed. Anyway, I've only had my O2 for a few months now and I'll probably hold onto it for a little while longer.

Windows Facebook App is all i gotta say as an example of a crappy app Edited May 27, 2010 by FerdiBorbon

Windows Facebook App is all i gotta say as an example of a crappy app I want all that AND a platform that is open enough that I can tweak it and benefit from others' tweaking and development. WM has been such a platform (well, the latter, at least; the former, could be better but I digress), and Android already is and will stay that way. It won't be long before Android surpasses iPhone in unit sales, and third-party development. For us Verizon i920 owners, there's some good rumoring going on that the Galaxy S will be coming to Verizon later this year. My contract's up at the end of the year, so I will be well-positioned to rape Verizon for a Galaxy S for pennies in exchange for a new 2 year commitment. YAY! Edited May 28, 2010 by dwallersv
Guest slimyspartagus Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I'm excited to see what the omnia 3 would offer, but I am sick of samsung not putting 100% into their product. There is a reason that the omnia is not a mainstream smart phone. Samsung put cheap parts into it when they could have done much better.. that is why it lags even with an 800mhz. it is slower than phones with a 500mhz CPU. I hope samsung will care about releasing a better product for a samsung 3.
Guest Snow02 Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 No, it's using a different chip. It's an Arm 11 800 mhz, which yes, will be slower than a 500 or 600 mhz cortex A8. I thought people realized a long time ago architecture > clock speed.

I thought people realized a long time ago architecture > clock speed. Well architecture will make a cpu faster, but they don't advertise architecture, they advertise clock speed:/ and the actual bench mark speeds of a chip usually come to my attention later:/
