Guest Formel-LMS Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Yes, pershoots Kernel works good. I've this with XTRA and everything is fine.
Guest dkorunic Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Upgrade to r19 and my data connection stopped working completely. Wiped/reset to factory and still no go. Yes, I had Froyo radio before the upgrade. I wonder if to go back to r18... Anyone with this issue too? EDIT: after few wipes, it started working :-) Edited June 24, 2010 by dkorunic
Guest Chicaned Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I love this ROM. It's super smooth. BBC iPlayer works almost perfectly smooth now in full screen. Personally I like it when you reinstall and it grabs all your last installed apps. All good so far.
Guest Dayzee Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Fabulous - thanks for that guys - Using Pershoots EXTRA Kernel (see link in Andy's post), and found a great Black Bar mod too here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...amp;postcount=6 Also this is the first time i've applied the Froyo apps hack and put stuff on SD that way - that too is working just dandy - Tips are to not put any widgets on SD - I just have bigger progs and games over there. Also if you use a replacement Launcher, you need to do a restart of the launcher on reboot, as the SD card loads after the launcher and so it looks like you lose apps - A restart iof launcher does the trick though Fabulous stuff - I love r19 mr MoDaco... Mwah!!
Guest ranblv Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I think its the best rom yet, and the most improved performance compared to the vanilla stock FRF83. Way to go.
Guest Jaidix496 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Could anyone help me. Baked a rom that works awesome (thanx Paul), but I can not get apps2sd to work. I have a fat32 & ext 3 paritioned, but its still grayed out in the settings/apps/managed part.
Guest PeRKoniX Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Is is me or is the market painfully slow? Tried with wifi but searching / selecting / installing takes ages ;) It is since today that I am experiencing this. Not sure if it is r19 related. More people with this complain? Edited June 24, 2010 by PeRKoniX
Guest koh4711 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) when i try to download anything from the market itll come up with a download unsuccessful error, tried to restart and everything no luck. should i just reinstall? Edited June 24, 2010 by koh4711
Guest adomanico01 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 when i try to download anything from the market itll come up with a download unsuccessful error, tried to restart and everything no luck. should i just reinstall? I think this is a market problem, and not a ROM problem. I went from r18 to CM 5.0.8 and was still having issues.
Guest richdmc Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Wondering if trackball wake is in this release and if it work? Have the dead power button issue and have to run a rom with working trackball wake. Been back on 2.1 for three days and so ready to go back to 2.2
Guest bolti Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I think this is a market problem, and not a ROM problem. I went from r18 to CM 5.0.8 and was still having issues. Same thing here. Works for some apps but not all. All the Replacement home apps fail but I installed Blink, linpak and more. Very strange stuff....
Guest brosenz Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I built a ROM (using the kitchen) with the App2SD+ option, then I formatted the SD card with a 2GB ext4 partition and the phone will not boot, it will get stuck at the boot screen with the Lock, unlocked. If I get rid of the ext4 partition and install an only FAT32 SD card it will boot fine, any idea what could be the problem ?, thanks
Guest bolti Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Same thing here. Works for some apps but not all. All the Replacement home apps fail but I installed Blink, linpak and more. Very strange stuff.... Seems to work again ;)
Guest raptor402 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I'm having the same problem with my market. Some apps just refuse to install until I close market and start it again. Also, some apps such as Google Earth and HelixLauncher have mysteriously disappeared from the market.
Guest asmirm Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Same thing here. Works for some apps but not all. All the Replacement home apps fail but I installed Blink, linpak and more. Very strange stuff.... Same here. Can't install any apps from the market.
Guest boesky37 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Hey I have read that to install r19 over frf83 I just have to wipe cache and dalvik. How do I do that? Any help would be appreciated. You'll need an unlocked bootloader + root to install a custom recovery img. Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829 Not sure if there's any way around unlocking it, sorry ;) Edited June 24, 2010 by boesky37
Guest raptor402 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Looks like market's working properly again. But apps such as earth and helixlauncher are still missing.
Guest Wickedchild Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) im having trouble flashing 2 roms i baked here (r19 ofc)... they both failed. heres a bit of what I see during the update: Formatting SYSTEM:... Copying files... Deleting files... E:Can't chown/mod /data/dropbear/.ssh (No such file or directory) E:Failure at line 371: set-perm 0 0 0700 DATA:dropbear/.ssh Installation aborted. im not a very hardcore modder or anything... anyone got an idea as to what may cause this? i tried baking a 2nd rom without hebrew, wavesecure and titanium backup but got the same thing, so either this is coming from something else in the rom that is removable or its something in the core that doesnt want to work on my specific N1... anything else I could upload here to help someone diagnose this? some type of log other than what I already copied? Thanks for the work anyhow Paul ;) hope i get it to work on my phone soon... Edit: so....... whats a good shameful smily? i took a quick look at the kitchen again and noticed what dropbear is... downloading a new bake with it inside... hopefully this will clear the error. i can live with a functionality i wont use if it works :( Edit 2: Nope... same exact error. *sigh* Edited June 24, 2010 by Wickedchild
Guest NAK#57 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 ok I have a problem after I flash r19 everything seem to go well but now after the reboot right when my phone turnes on it gets stuck at the X logo(before the animation) with the unlock symbol. I let it sit but nothing happens any suggestions
Guest iconoclastic Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Wow, for me at least, battery use is noticeably improved over r18 or r17. That combined with the froyo jit speed and once again being able to see all the things in the market that I haven't seen since froyo first started leaking out, (yeah, I know there were workarounds if you were persistent) makes this definitely the best release yet. I almost don't miss the desire/sense bits that much. Well, except for the desire camera. Need that camera back. Great work Paul! Thanks!
Guest lp1527 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Can anyone confirm-- as this is 'final' release, necessary to include the modified build.prop?
Guest brosenz Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 ok I have a problem after I flash r19 everything seem to go well but now after the reboot right when my phone turnes on it gets stuck at the X logo(before the animation) with the unlock symbol. I let it sit but nothing happens any suggestions I am having the same problem, did you have an SD card installed with an ext4 or ext3 partition ?, try: - Removing the card - Remove the ext3 / ext4 partition leave only a FAT32 partition Try booting again, thanks
Guest iconoclastic Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Can anyone confirm-- as this is 'final' release, necessary to include the modified build.prop? I built without the modified build.prop and I can see things in the market I haven't seen since I started using the various froyo leaks, but I haven't tried a side-by-side comparison with the modified build-props or anything. As far as I can tell though, you probably won't need it (ignoring theoretical situations of things not officially available to froyo, etc).
Guest danw1028 Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 I have noticed on the market that if you ONLY download one app at a time to start off then everything begins to work as normal. Once it gets a few through it seems that you can start dl and install more and more at once. This has occured three times with 72 and 83 builds so I dont believe this is a coincidence.
