Guest 42turkeys Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) So..... Alpha testers for SenseYo please! :( I've just copied the sense apps (calendar, people ect.) from MCR and put them into system/app so it should be safe. As I don't own a Desire please tell me which of the Sense apps work and which FC so I can include them in the final release! NANDROID FIRST!!!! :( EDIT: Not Working atm, see below. Thanks for testing & I hope that you appreciate this as I don't even own a Desire! EDIT: I removed Amazon MP3 too EDIT 2: Should not require wipe if you're already on DeFroST, if not then wipe everything. Edited June 2, 2010 by 42turkeys

Downloading now :o And about the lagg, in the launcher I have pretty severe lagg too, but I installed launcherPro and all lagg is gone now :D EDIT: it's flashing right now :o EDIT2: I'm sorry but it isn't working B) I keep getting a popup saying "the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly." I can force close it but it will just come back. I can't test anything else either because of this. Pretty cool though that you're trying this without even having a Desire B) Edited June 2, 2010 by Need_A_Username

If you don't want to wait for it to upload (approx. 1hr 30mins) then delete phone.apk & phone.odex and sign. 9% Uploaded I'll just wait, don't know a lot (if anything) about developing :o :( (yet :( )
Guest 42turkeys Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) Done! [Taken link offline as I've got a few testers] I've ZipAligned this one as well so it should run faster. In the next one should I get rid of Launcher2 and use Launcher Pro? Or both? I need you to test the following bits in sense: People, Calendar, Dialer, Weather & anything I've forgot off this list. Guest realmausi Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) im flashing now, second time.... :-) EDIT: Boot.... looks like an endless boot.... com.android.mms fc com.android.phone fc and loop.... same like the first rom Edited June 2, 2010 by realmausi

Done flashing, still having the phone error, along with another one, but this one doesn't repeat itself (I think it was calendar but I closed it too fast :() I think you shouldn't get rid of Launcher 2, I prefer it's looks above Launcher Pro, but in the Defrost ROM, I find Launcher 2 too laggy :( EDIT: when I click the dialer between two error popups, it just opens the stock dialer. Guest 42turkeys Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) Ok, can you try and open all sense apps and tell me which ones FC? If you can, download an app called 'log collector' email me the output after FC or 'adb logcat' if you know what that is. Gonna be away now for a few minutes, will see what needs doing later. Can't open the htc program's they're not in the launcher :s I uploaded the logcat to rapidshare: http://rapidshare.com/files/394477087/logcat ;-) Hope you can open it, but I guess you can :( I did the following: adb shell cd sdcard logcat > logcat Then just uploaded the created file to rapidshare (but in windows I could only view it using notepad ++) Edited June 2, 2010 by Need_A_Username

Guest Need_A_Username Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) Managed to open it, I'm using Linux :o Restore to other one and I have another idea Yeah I figured you would probably be using linux :( Wish I could put it in multiboot, but my raid 0 keeps interfeering with it (At least I think that's the problem :o) When you say other one, do you mean the standard defrost? :D Or your first release? :( Edited June 2, 2010 by Need_A_Username

Guest 42turkeys Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Lol phone got in a boot loop after restoring my nand backup :( But its fixed Just tell me if you need me to test something else :( My plan is to adb push the apks and see if it works that way. ETA: tomorrow. If you want to have a go now then unzip MCR then copy sense apps from system/app to your SDK tools folder and use 'adb install nameofapk.apk' This will install them as a normal app so it should run fine.
Guest l1nuxfre4k Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Does apps2sd by google work correctly? mine doesnt seem to work good, at 86mb in phone storage :S
Guest 42turkeys Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Does apps2sd by google work correctly? mine doesnt seem to work good, at 86mb in phone storage :S Developers have to add something to their app to enable it. Also, in this Rom I think there's a command to enable it on the post on xda.
Guest Pyr0x64 Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 yeah, shell pm setInstallLocation 2 forces all apps to be installed on the SD. more info here on xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...amp;postcount=2 the froyo apps2sd works, but it's not perfect. it still leaves a lot of data on the phone... and things like widgets break if installed to the SD also if running Launcher Pro, the apps installed onto the SD will go missing from the LP app drawer, but it is still possible to add shortcuts to them on the homescreens
Guest afiorillo Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 [...] also if running Launcher Pro, the apps installed onto the SD will go missing from the LP app drawer, but it is still possible to add shortcuts to them on the homescreens Ah, so it's a LauncherPro issue....! Thanks.
