Guest ANDRE_Mobile Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 There are a few things to consider here. For example look at the Garmin maps on the I900 and now the I8000. The display looks like the standalone units from Garmin. Compare this to the Samsung Jet, for example. It has a crappy Garmin version, simply because I think it has a different OS that runs on the Jet. Do not get me wrong, I am not a great fan of Windows, however as the example mentioned about the Garmin display and so many other applications, it's better on Windows Phones in comparison to other OS's in the Samsung handsets range. I really do not mind what OS Samsung uses as long as there is compatibility on various platforms and lots of applications and customization with virtually no restrictions for the user.

Guest chokia Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I wonder how the hell people outside the US can actually navigate with google voice navigator of android. The POI and Maps are super outdated for non-US users. Garmin all the way!

I do not use Google maps at all, I use Garmin XT Maps, which came with my i8000, It is backed by Garmin South Africa works great!!!.....Display look like the stand alone unit from Garmin and not like Google maps. My Google maps is up to date with South Africa.............not an issue here Edited May 29, 2010 by ANDRE_Mobile
