Guest hungary Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Should I go for it? Yeah, later you can reflash it with your localized update.
Guest EvilGazebo Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 In the immortal words of Peter Griffin: "freakin' sweet!!" UK Pulse upgraded from Paul's 1.7 Vanilla (which I'll miss but had to do it) using these instructions and all looks good so far. Slight nervousness when the automatic reboot at the end of the update didn't happen but battery out did the job. Thanks all :(
Guest spaul99 Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) Got mine working fine. No reboots, no FCs. But i forgot how few apps you can load without APPS2SD. Paul ps. Does anyone find the sensitivity of the orientation sensor to high? pps. Also has anyone found the Twidroid is missing from the market? Edited May 28, 2010 by spaul99
Guest jackwooly Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) Hi, long time lurker. Just copied the update to my sd card and got it to the 'preparing to update...' message but now my pulse has been restarting itself every minute or so, only once making it to the lock screen and it was the same screen I had on 1.5. When it did get to that stage the touchscreen didn't work either. The pulse is still connected to my PC throughout this. Was this the mistake? It seems to have frozen on the t-mobile logo at the moment. EDIT: Battery out did the trick and it's updating now. Big fuss over nothing :( Edited May 28, 2010 by jackwooly

It seems to have frozen on the t-mobile logo at the moment. Its works 100% only with the U8220! With U8220-6 (USA and China?) and U8230 its not work. Do a nandroid restore with amon_ra recovery! After this, update the original 1.5 with key combination. You can try after this flash the 2.1 via the Settings\SDcard\SOftware Upgrade.
Guest jackwooly Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 (edited) It is the U8220. The update installed but it's having real trouble booting and I'm getting regular restarts. It's unplugged from the PC now, should it be reconnected even though the battery is full? Edited May 28, 2010 by jackwooly
Guest JohnPorter Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Hey! Excellent! Put the update on and it all seems to be working good at the mo...cheers guys
Guest EvilGazebo Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 pps. Also has anyone found the Twidroid is missing from the market? Yep, not there for me either. Perhaps because we are all Hungarians now? :(
Guest MrLowHoe Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 Yep, not there for me either. Perhaps because we are all Hungarians now? :( Well, now that you're at 2.1 you can download the offical Twitter app :( No idea if its good though.
Guest _Bobby Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) Would anyone please upload the update file on some other server? I get 8 B/s - 7.8 kB of 99.0 MB, 150 days left :( I guess the t-mobile site is extremely overloaded. edit: Found it... http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X98OUMSF (a fresh mirror I just made :( ) Edited May 29, 2010 by _Bobby

Guest brtemp Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 sorry for the newbie questions. just want to make sure I got this.. * 5 After phone booted, copy the "dload" folder from T-Mobile_Pulse_21_B815\CUSTOMIZED_HU to SDcard, and overwrite the existing one. - how exactly is the "dload" folder to be copied over to the sd card? Through file manager or some other method? Turn off the device and press the red (end) + the volume up to + hold down the power button, and wait for the "Preparing to update ..." message. - is this two steps? 1) turn off and then 2) press red.... or one step? press red + volume....

You need at the same time to press red and volume up button and then just tap (press) power up button
Guest Stevos Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 All 2.1 rom have the same bootloader info, so you can updat to UK, US, SWE or any 2.1 rom, but cant back to any 1.5. Thanks for clearing that up, I guess I'll give this a go -thanks
Guest flip's Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) First Bug in this ROM Camera is not working properly.... Not for me - TMN A1 U8230 :) With Swiss rom, 802.1x didn't work correctly. With this one, Hungarian it seems to work, but only monday I will know for shure. Neither of these roms worked for me with: Amon ra recover (can't find MISC etc.) Superboot and some thing went really wrong with a tmn_a1_Superboot.zip. All is working fine: gps UMTS magnetometer gisroscope wifi camera etc. Edited June 12, 2010 by flip's
Guest Simon Taylor Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 First Bug in this ROM Camera is not working properly.... me neither! I started a thread here: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...1-camera-error/ Lets discuss there!
Guest Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 I just updated the first dload folder, it says "Update Complete" but it's been saying "Restarting..." for a while now, is it supposed to do that?

Take out the battery and apply the second update (optional). If you don't want to do that, just take out the battery and turn on your phone.
Guest Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Take out the battery and apply the second update (optional). If you don't want to do that, just take out the battery and turn on your phone. Is that safe?
Guest Fusion0306 Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Is that safe? Official guide said that it can happen. And if it does, you should take out the battery and turn on your phone. I did that and it's all good.
Guest edingal Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Mines restarted after first update but without the touch screen working and now the second update wont work, dont know what to do
Guest johninho Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Mines restarted after first update but without the touch screen working and now the second update wont work, dont know what to do Edingal. I've just done my first ever flash non official upgrade using these instructions. My touch screen didn't work on 1st update either but I used the track ball (pressing in for enter) and randomly pressing screen until eventually phone booted up to desktop. Then did 2nd update and all is well. Good luck
