Guest Rob Brown Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 I just finished getting grilled my Verizon tech support over a dead omnia 2. I was installing the new ROM update when the screen on the phone pixelated and went from black to orange. The update utility restarted and popped up a dialog window telling me to unplug the usb cable, remove and replace the battery in the phone, and then plug the usb cable back in. Of course, I had also seen where the same program said that removing the cable or power would make the phone unusable. I did what it said, and it bricked the phone. Nothing from the charger or the usb when conected to the computer. After talking to the second Verizon tech I was transfered to, she let it slip that it is a known problem that the utility is bricking phones. The replacement will be here Friday since the phone is only a few months old, still in warranty, and I have the insurance. The only bright point is that I only have to go 72 hours without my precious.
