Display Problem: On occasions the Displays frezes

Details: A couple of times when I was using NewsRob and got redirected to a web page my display froze. I am sure it was just the display. You could switch the backlight off but then it didn't come back on. I assume the phone was working fine as I have tried to turn off the phone but I have always selected the Airplane mode. Then I had to remove the battery. Anyone experienced this?

I've had that a couple of times now.

Once in the market,once when I was trying to use dolphin explorer.

The screen just froze and I couldn't do anything.I pressed the red button(which i've set to make my phone go to sleep) and my phone went to sleep.The buttons were still lit up but nothing worked so I had to take out the battery to restart my phone.

I've had this problem a couple of times. Once with the unofficial 2.1 and MCR r7, once with the official Hungary 2.1 and an MCR from the kitchen. Both times, I had "screen never time out" turned on, and it had been after a long idle period that I noticed the problem. When I updated to the official 2.1, I did apply the CUSTOM_HU update, but I didn't re-apply it after applying the MCR, as ogiogi did.

I noticed this in the android market, bluetooth headset call and when browsing the internet.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but i changed my phone options to "only use 2G" and i haven't had a freezing screen for 3 days now.

Problem: Unknown call in call list

Details: When I get a call with unknown phone number, the phone choose a contact from phone book (I don't know the algorithm), and in the call list I see that contact's name, not the "Unknown number" label, but when I select that contact's name in the call list, the phone write "Unknown number".

Got the same problem.

Some contact info is just mixed up.

When caller is Unknown, it just randomly shows a contact in the call history.

Also noticed that when i selected a contact from the list and get the see the options, the name of another contact appears in the screen, but when i choose dial, the original name is yet again displayed.

Problem: Market connection problems

Details : When in the market i get a popup stating that there is no network connection en i can thoose retry or cancel. 2G or 3G doesn't matter, both give the same error, only on 3G i noticed that i got a frozen screen oftenly (see port #2). After clicking retry, everything just works.

Problem1: WLAN drops when Screen locks

Details1 : Whenever the screen times out and I switch it back on (light press prower button) while WLAN was connected no data communication was possible while screen ist dark. No weather widget update, no sync - instead a message from Pulse "further datacommunication may be charged:continue - abort" (<- Translated from german) . No WLAN Symbol on top line. If i just wait a couple of seconds WLAN becomes active again and the message disappeares.

Problem2: T-Mobile doesn't synch while WLAN is active

Details2: When I have T-Mobile NAB and Google on autosync and WLAN active (=which i prefer because of 200 MB Limit/Month) T-Mobile doesn't sync - maybe a trick to generate traffic :) Is there a possibility to either delete T-Mobile NAB as a sync account or fore it to sync via WLAN?

Problem 1:

This is probably because you have the WiFi sleep policy set to sleep when screen turns off. Easily changed via:

Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > Menu Button > Advanced > Wi-Fi sleep policy

For the message "further datacommunication may be charged:continue - abort" see: "Continuing Internet access will lead to traffic. Continue?" thread. There is a change to build.prop that removes this pop up.

Problem 2

I don't sync contacts, so no idea sorry.

Does anyone know, how to remove "voice search", "google talk", and "calculator" of the phone? I have FC at every startup because of the voice search, and using up too much time...

Anyone noticed: APNDroid is unnecessary, because you can disable the data connecton in the network connections menu. :)

Hi:

I'm having issues with my 3G radio in the U8220-6.

In both Android 1.5 and Android 2.1 I can't get the 3G to work. I don't have the 2G only ticket checked and also I've checked that it's not a SIM problem, because in another 3G phone, it connects to the 3G network without issues.

Can someone tell me of an app or utility that let me know about the 3G radio, stats, logs, if it's working, etc..

Any help would be appreciated.

Same Here. Also 3G signal is impossible to reach now :)

I have the U8220-6. Didn't read carefully before flashing I'm afraid. :)

I may be missing something (config?) but now when in-call my mute/hold buttons are greyed out and I have no way to mute. Anyone else got this? I'm running Paul's marvellous 2.1 MCR

Error "cannot connect to camera". Had to nand restore original Hungarian update.

i have this error ("cannot connect to camera") for a week, i installed several (origi with/without hun customize thing, RBM, paul's..) roms without any help... is nand restore to original equal that i wipe everything and install hungarian 2.1 again? because it didn't help for me, i'm on stock-hungarian 2.1 now :)

please help, i don't want to take my pulse back to t-mo, i don't know when i will see it again :S

i think i have the same problem

voice search constantly crashes everywhere - i use my pulse as a mp3 player @ work and nearly everytime i start the music player the voice search crashes. it looks like its trying to index the music files ...

i think google talk is in the gapps process and that FC sometimes in my os-version

out of the blue 'acore' also stops working. for example when i try to navigate somewhere - but that might be a problem with the navigation package by 'brut' which i'm using cause i am too studpid to get the market enabler to work ... :)

also: at startup acore crashes - click on wait resolves that issue

if i can't fix the voice crap in the next few days i'll rebake a version without voice search that should at least solve the issue allthough i don't want to start making all the settings again ... :)

Brilliant ... I was having the same problem (though on the other hand I'd also been enjoying much improved baterry life!).

Without this reply I would have never realized that there was a menu with advanced options available on this page - why didn't they simply put "advanced options" as an extra entry on the page so you knew it was there. Are there any other settings pages with important options "hidden" behind the menu button?

This problem is annoying me now. It occurs quite regularly. Happens when using apps, such as newsrob and tweetcaster etc.

1. sometimes the pulse needs 20 sec to open the call log (it's full with 500), sometimes it's "just" two sec (after 4-5 min sleeping)

2. all the rom is very laggy (open sms, call log) every phone programs, it's drive me crazy, I have a phone and I need to wait for 20 sec to open my text messages ect.)

I tried to swipe, restart, anything is working. (I have installed only mysettings form the market, but I have the same without it)

Tried one of the vanilla roms? I had the same problem with the hungarian and MCR one, but the Vanilla ones, especially this one runs very smooth for me.

Worst case scenario, you can roll back to 1.5 using this

2) Not a bug as such, but the new browser is not optimising/fitting pages to screen. Some pages need multiple zooming in/ moving around, although before they were sized to fit.

3) In call volume now very low. Have checked settings, all on max. Curiously enough, before it was too loud!

4) Live wallpapers don't stay set. Usually if phone goes into sleep, will revrt back to old wallpaper.

Have been running this for a few days now. Few other things I've noticed.

5) Keyboard retracts during typring in some apps and will not reappear. Major culprit maps/navigation.

6) Headphone volume very low (was always quite low, but had LVH when I was rooted)

7) Nav/maps crashes and hangs a lot, particularly when battery low.

8) Time/contacts takes a while to load up - time resets to 0.00 on boot, but corrects after a minute or so. Contacts show as number rather than name initially.

9) not all apps show in market - seems to be region locked.

10) Overall load/processing speeds slower

Apart from the above - some of which are more problematic than others (wrestled with navigation for 30 mins in London before eventually buying a paper map) - I like the overall look and feel of 2.1, but would be interested to hear if any of the other versions solve these problems / are any quicker.
