Guest phhusson Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 hd videos or what did you mean:D 60fps 720p, 30fps 1080p, 15fps 2592x1944 Basically.
Guest Piter1225 Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 60fps 720p, 30fps 1080p, 15fps 2592x1944 Basically. If u follow N1 xda forum you probably know that they unlocked 720p, so I wish nothing is impossible for Liquid owners :) My previous device had included goforce 5500, manufacturer forgot including drivers, but we unlocked high res video recording I hope this time it will be also possible :-)
Guest HustlinDaily Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 I don't mean my priorities are better than yours, i only posted what i though, overheating is very bad, for first time i heared setcpu audible warning because reached 46 degrees, the value i set on the setcpu app. I don't want to tell to anyone what to do, PHH knows what to do by himself and barmyman too, i see. I'm trying to testing this rom instead to watch and asking every minutes wifi fix, i'm using froyo rom everydays to give a feedback a PHH and anyone else who want to do something, someone aren't using froyo and want this and that.... Sorry for my bad english. Gotcha. Misinterpretation on my part. I thought you were saying to forget WiFi and focus on the other stuff. As for HD recording to go along with all the other great stuff, that would be sick! This development team is quickly turning a midpriced phone into a superphone!

Don't worry dude :) I couldn't think to be so lucky tu buy a good device and then to have a superphone, at the beginning i though to sell it... But now i love it!
Guest jayziac Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 I've kind of started, I found the chip used on our devices. It's the MT9P012, take a little google search to find its commercial documentation, and read it, the interesting stuff is at the bottom right of the first page, and now think of how much you love acer, and how much you'll love the person who will make it work. I've always noticed pictures taken with our Liquid camera has the reddish tone in the center area of photos that have a lot of blue. For example take a picture of the horizon with half blue sky, the center of the picture will have a red tint to it. Not sure if it's a software or hardware problem. Just thought I'd bring it up in case there was an obvious fix.

It would allow them to market the devices much better. Imagine being able to say HD 720p 30fps video! There must be a reason why it's not enabled by default other than laziness...
Guest barmyman Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) ahh...i guess i will leave this up to you, phh) my knowledge about android is very small.. i just found the inet page about porting wifi drivers. here it is http://blog.chinaunix.net/u3/93670/showart_2229188.html i create an init.sh and ran it using gscript. now it's not working again,i'm traped...guess i need to rest) all we need is to make wpa_supplicant work and tell somehow to android about where the drivers are.. Guest vikings123 Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 No, I'll maybe when wifi bores me. Loo, this is a great work. :) But to me and my work, Wifi is the most important thing to have. Others are all just nice-to-have. :)
Guest wytek Posted June 8, 2010 Report Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) MT9P012 High-Resolution Image Capture With Micron’s advanced 12-bit ADC, the MT9P012 enables next-level, high-resolution image capture and HDTV video formats that rival the performance of CCD-based digital still cameras. The MT9P012 captures high definition video at 60 fps and 720p and at 30 fps and 1080p. Edited June 8, 2010 by wytek

Even if that is the right information (I take your word for it, no clue by myself), there is other limits in a device like this. Acer need to cut corners to produce a cheap telephone and still earn some money. 1. The cpu is downclocked, probably because acer is buying "faulty" 1 ghz cpu's that works perfectly at 768 Mhz. However, 1 Ghz or 768 Mhz shouldn't make any big difference since number 2 below needs to be fullfilled anyway. (I say "faulty" since qualcomm doesn't officially sell any snapdragon chips below 1 Ghz, it's of course a deal between qualcomm and acer that supplies them with those 768 Mhz cpus) 2. Encoding. Without any knowledge of the chip it's hard to tell but I don't think the chip is encoding the video into any suitable format. The captured video is probably in raw format and needs to be encoded before storing on memory card. (For just displaying raw format is ok, but thats pretty useless :) ). So can the snapdragon chip encode video at the rates? It needs a dedicated piece on the chip, the cpu will not be enough for 720p in 30 fps. 3. Storing. All published tests shows that our liquids internal memory card is a weak spot with limited speeds. How the speeds on the external card/reader is I don't know. With all that, I still hope someone tries. That's the only way to find out where the limit is. For acer it's probably easier to skip a feature than promise something that may or may not work on a lowprice phone.

I remember reading somewhere that they had lowered the voltage and turned down the clock speed (to keep stability) to get better battery life. Even though qualcomm says on their page that the cpu is 1ghz that dosen't mean that manufactures are able to tweak that. In fact it is a part of the spec that manufactures can custom change clock speed and voltage to fit their needs. http://www.insidedsp.com/Articles/tabid/64...rpion-Core.aspx "The core supports multiple clock and voltage domains to enable additional power savings."
Guest Edward.W Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 When we dig deeper, we get more surprise! :) Good to go, developers :)
Guest CedricGatay Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 That's a good news for the camera, keep up the good work team. I wish I had more spare time to help...
Guest Edward.W Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 My god! After I flash the 998MHz.img, the phone is stuck in the boot sequence. It just stop when the word" Android" comes out. Can't go to fastboot again, checksum error :) But I can still go into Malez recovery, what can i do?

Guest neferym Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 if you delete some google app, u can have 60 ram free. @phhusson: Is it possible to make a liquid rom with the final froyo for N1? it's possible to have more ram with that.

Guest simoneser Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Is the Froyo rom without odex file. You can do more customization, a lighter rom and, hopefully, working LEDs on Liquid :)
