Guest lytieulong Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Without data connection is this google map a piece of crap? wth does the gps function do?.... i tried the "DIRECTIONS" with only GPS active and its not working anyone confirm without the INTERNET this map is a junk? and what does the GPS exactly used for when we cannot use "DIRECTIONS mode"?

To clarify your doubt, google maps require you to have a internet connection to download the map data. You could download the map at home and use it offline but that will take up alot of memory space on your phone. GPS is is just to get the data of which part and the exact position you are standing at. GPS does not offer you internet services for you to download your map.
