[ROM] FLB-Mod 1 (Based on Android 2.1)

They say if it ant broke dont try to fix it and Im still running flb 1.1 and still happy :) , however I dont want to get left behind so can I just do the normal and wipe all then partition again and flash Rom even though im still on 1.1 or do I have to go to 1.2 first?

You can go straight to 1.31 if you wipe and flash. Updating from 1.2 to 1.31 shouldn't need a wipe and hopefully future versions can be upgradable without wiping.

Damm thats why I ant moved from 1.1 couldnt be assssssss to wipe when the rom is running so good, anyway 1.31 here I come thanks for the quick reply Flib :)

If you want a custom based on UK then theres another thread for that. There are no benefits in basing FLB on the UK ROM as parts are the same as Hungarian T-Mobile ROM and parts are the same as the Tre ROM. It's just a standard Huawei ROM with different partition sizes to please t-mobile.

I am however using the UK kernel which works fine for anybody that updated using any of the 3 official 2.1 ROMs. However I would advise that people update their devices using either the Tre 2.1 update or the UK 2.1 update as these make some changes to the phone which seems to fix issues with rotation, and possibly other things.

Hungarian T-Mobile ROM is a beta and probably is the reason why some people have weird issues with FLB.

If we waited for those vendors like T-mobile to give us 2.1 we would only just get it and 2.1 has been out for a while, guys like Flib help us Pulse user's to get the best out of our phones without having to rely on these long Vendors so IMO hold up let Flib and other Devs work there magic :)

I did take a look at the UK code and honestly, unless you really love the T-Mobile themes, there isn't any use moving FLB over to it. FLB is already a crazy mix of different ROMs (mostly Tre but some T-Mobile HU and now some T-Mobile UK). Most of the core system files are taken from the Tre ROM and these are pretty much the same as the files in the UK 2.1 ROM.

FLB 1.31 should work for all 2.1 ROM users but I would really advise that anybody who updated using the Hungarian ROM and has issues with FLB to update using the UK ROM. But if you have Nandroid backups you want to be able to use then you should update to the Tre ROM instead due to it having the same partition sizes. The UK ROM is different sizes so any backups will not work.

T-Mobile UK did the right thing by waiting. T-Mobile HU released a beta which is slow and buggy. Huawei only gave the code to T-Mobile UK back in June so it's not bad considering they've been working on 2.1 updates for other phones. And I'm happy that T-Mobile UK changed the partition sizes to increase space on /data. An extra 10MB makes a big difference as most Pulse owners won't know about or won't be interested in custom ROMs and having 80MB to install applications is quite good.

The next step for FLB is to get it stable. For me personally it's pretty stable apart from one force close during the initial setup. I'll try and fix that and fix any other stability issues. Then try and tweak some more speed out of the ROM. Then I'm afraid work on the ROM will be on hold..... until we have the kernel source :)

hay flibb hmmm so i got the1.2 tre over hu2.1 do you recomend me to upgrade to 2.1 tre or uk before goint to 1.31 or wil 1.2 tre upgraded to 1.31 be fine and will keep any tmob uk goodness if any on it and so when you say no wype you mean all i do is flash zip and everything i had before will be there again so no need to re download apps.thanks you are the best.

sorry if my earlier postt seemed abit rude :) sorry haha

im just going to install 1.31 over tmobile UK update i think, and im hoping that if the UK 2.1 fixed SMS issues,and the FLB will carry this over? i dont know, is anything from the UK release which might have fixed the beta issues with SMS been incorporated in FLB 1.31?

and thanks btw, FLB has given me a new phone!! :D

actually already having sms issues with official UK update!! so annoying!

I had FLB 1.2, then i flashed 1.31 and did a a2sd cachesd.

As far as i can see everything looks fine.

I have installed about 40 Apps.

a2sd check works fine too.

I've Tre installed and then FLB 1.0. Today I installed 1.31 and I've got problems with a2sd. I wiped ext before, but a2sd isn't working properly.

No. a2sd is working now. It typed "a2sd cachesd" in root-mode in the terminal. But normally this was automatically done by the ROM, wasn't? In my opinion FLB 1.0 was a little bit smoother for me. Is that possible? Is that right that I doesn't need autokiller with v1.31, because you've integrated this settings direct in the ROM?

Now it take a little time, sometimes about 2-4 seconds. In both cases the launcher is ADW. What are the difference between these both versions which could cause the speed decrease?

Flibble, please don't understand that wrong! It's a great ROM but I'm only interested in it and maybe you've done a mistake (:)) and you can increase the speed again.

You really don't need to update to the UK 2.1 ROM if you are happy with your phone now. You should be able to update from FLB 1.2 to 1.31 without wiping data. If you do get problems then wipe and install again.

Hi!

I'm using FLB 1.31 right now and I have updated to T-Mobile UK 2.1

I'm very satisfied with this rom, runs really smooth :-)

the only thing: my battery life decreased a lot :S

My battery was able to last for 4 days, but now after one day I have to recharge...

Am I the only one with less battery life?

And could there be a solution?
