That has been missing from the 2.1 dialer in the Pulse ROMs. I did try to use the stock dialer but it caused some issues. Blame Huawei for that.
Guest fredewis Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) lol tryed upgrading to 1.31 it said error on line 5 aborting upgrade any ideas desided to upgrade becouse i keep getting alot of wait/fc of most things is there a way to fix this currently on 1.2 tre. Guest impalaman Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi flibblesan! I discovered what causes the ascending ringtone problem. Last night i pushed the stock Android 2.1 Phone.apk to my phone, then someone called me and my phone is ringed quick and loud, without ascending. I attach the app in flashable zip, tested with Huawei dialer and stock dialer. ringtone_fix_signed.zip Sorry for my english, i hope you understand my words. :)
Guest biron_w Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Did you do a full wipe before installing the ROM? Yep. Seems to have stopped doing it now.. Might be because i've gone back to using touchpal. Very strange :)
Guest primo007 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi Flibble! Thank you for your great work, your roms are really excellent. However I have a problem with 1.31: after some web browsing, listening to music or something else, ADW always reloads itself when I go back to homescreen. In 1.2tre it almost never happened even after heavy web browsing. So I went back to 1.2tre and I'm happy again with my superfast Pulse. I don't know for sure, but web browsing (with stock browser) also seems faster in 1.2tre. I wonder if anybody else experienced this.

For the Launcher "Try setting "ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1" at the end of /data/local.prop" and reboot. This will be needed till flibble adds it to the kernel again. Cheers!

I think 1.2 didn't have memory tweaks (minfree) applied which cause the OS to kill applications sooner. I have noticed that with Android 2.1 apps do not randomly start in the background like with Android 1.5. That was very annoying! Anyone else notice this?

Edit: With astro the folder /data is empty. Edited August 9, 2010 by Ellia

Guest krfan Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) I was having problems with sending and receiving mms (i even tried putting "mms" under the APN type and it still doesn't work), so i guessed it must've been a bug in the current rom i'm on (FLB Mod v1.0). So i decided to upgrade to the latest FLB Mod v1.31, until i got this error while updating: Formatting CACHE:... Deleting files... Deleting files... Copying files... Formatting SYSTEM:... Copying files... Deleting files... Formatting BOOT:... Writing BOOT:... E:Error finishing BOOT: E:Failure at line 385: write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img BOOT: Installation aborted. So i thought maybe my downloaded FLB file was corrupted, and i redownloaded it, and it still gave the same problems. Any ideas, anyone? [EDIT] I have done a Full Wipe (factory reset) before installing the new ROM. Also, if there is a prerequisite before installing this ROM, the only thing i can confirm is that my phone's an Android 2.1 as i do not know what 2.1 it's running on (hungarian, UK etc..) as when i got this phone from my uncle, it's already running on Android 2.1 :) Edited August 9, 2010 by krfan
Guest Ellia Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) I use Root Explorer, otherwise I'm not sure. Maybe try Estrongs and enable root choosing Cyanogen :) EStrongs doesn't work, it gave an error while opening the file. After I few days using v1.31 I give a conclusion about it compared to v1.0. For me v1.31 is not as smooth as v1.0. The launcher have often to be rebuild (ok, this problem seems to be addressed) and I got every day a few FC of acore. With v1.0 I got only one FC after the first boot. In my opinion v1.31 needs a little bit more time to boot and that not only for the first time. I flashed 2.1 Tre before v1.0 and the v1.31. All steps with full wipe. Edited August 9, 2010 by Ellia

Guest Melril Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Hi everyone ! A quick heads-up on the latest trouble shooting after upgrading to 1.2 on the Huawei u8230 : - Internal phone memory fills up very fast ; - Multiple core process fail to load and/or time out ; - Did a Dalvik+ext wipe before trying to install 1.3 to no avail. Going back to try and get my phone to work correctly - wish me luck :)

What's "Paul WIP" anyways lol? Okay, some updates here. Since i'm having the problem updating to the latest v1.31, i did think that i might have to update it using the official T-mobile Android 2.1 found here. Wait, before that, does it even sound logical updating an (unknown) 2.1 to a official T-mobile 2.1? As in, i'm already on Android 2.1, and i'm going to update to the official T-mobile's Android 2.1 software through "Software Upgrade". Since i failed to install v1.31, i tried to do a Nandroid backup through recovery. And it FAILED!! OMG!! And i'm really clueless now. Whenever i reboot my phone, it now goes into a blue screen. Please tell me i still have hope in reviving my dead phone. Please... :'(

This will run a patch on your phone which will allow you to go back to Android 1.5. Follow the guide carefully. Once you have installed Android 1.5 using the December update, allow your phone to boot into Android and complete the setup. This is important. 2) Follow this guide and install the Android 2.1 update. The guide is written for the Hungarian update. Unless you have a specific reason for needing this version, please download and use the UK update instead. DO NOT FOLLOW ANY PART OF THE 'OPTIONAL STEP'. Once installed let your phone boot into Android and do the setup. You should be at a working 2.1 system. If you follow these two guides exactly then you will not have a problem. I have updated 3 Pulse phones using this same method and all have worked fine.

I then tried the flbmod_v1.2_tmo.zip and it worked!! So my Pulse is now running on the flbmod_v1.2_tmo.zip. I dunno what you can conclude from this (as i dunno what's the difference between the ''tre'' and ''tmo''). Secondly, as to reply you, i will now try the methods you've advised. Really hope it works. And really hope i could get it all set up in an hour or less. I really need to make a call. Gosh. [EDIT] Flibble, i followed the guide "Returning to the Official 1.5 Update" that you advised me here, but got stuck in Step 5: Step 5: Confirm that you wish to update and allow the device to run it's course. The phone may get stuck on "Restarting" if so wait a few minutes then remove and re-insert the battery If what "stuck" meant having to see the word "Restarting" for more than 5 minutes, then i'm "stuck" on "Restarting". I did wait a few minutes before i removed and rebooted the phone. But it still went back to booting up my 2.1 Now that's weird. On the side note, just to confirm, the "Returning to the Official 1.5 Update" file i downloaded is only 167kb. Sound ridiculously small. Edited August 9, 2010 by krfan
Guest twics Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Ahh, I am gone for a few days and you guys are already on a new version. I feel left behind :) I am using 1.2 Tre at the moment and I am quite happy with it. Are there any advantages in terms of speed or stability by updating to 1.31? I mean, I really don't need to, but my Inner Geek says "Don't be coward...if you don't want to fool around with your phone, why didn't you buy an Iphone...come on, do it" I feel quiet the same way im still on flb-1.1 and its running fine, is there any advantages to 1.31? I think future roms after 1.31 are gonna be non wipes, if this is true then it would be worth the jump I suppose :D keep an eye on the thread and you wont get left behind :D
Guest igor_anta Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 How do I get logcat to work? After I insert the command nothing happens and my cmd windows gets blocked.

Guest peter2009 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Should I better upgrade from Tre Rom 2.1 or Hu Rom 2.1 before using FLB 1.31? What is more stable? And can someone post some pictures of the FLB Rom?
