Guest krfan Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I can't seem to update from december update to the UK 2.1 official update. However, i was able to update from december update to the hungarian 2.1 update. Does anyone seem to have any of these problems?

Have you tried updating using the 2.1 Tre ROM?
Guest oporto Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 There are 2 others that cannot update to the UK 2.1 ROM. Have you tried updating using the 2.1 Tre ROM? Yep, and that fails at boot too...
Guest Simon O Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Yep, and that fails at boot too... I would say that it's becoming clear you may have a hardware issue. You really should be able to flash the tre ROM on your device.
Guest igor_anta Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 I'm conctantly losing my APN with this version, I have no idea why but it changes my APN to T-Mob USA :)
Guest Simon O Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 I'm conctantly losing my APN with this version, I have no idea why but it changes my APN to T-Mob USA :) Strange. What network should you be using?
Guest igor_anta Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Strange. What network should you be using? Never mind I think I messed it up myself, just figured it out. I was using Market Access and it was set to emulate T-Mobile US on boot and I forgot to backup the original value, so when I fixed apk uid mismatches in AmonRa it changed my APN :) So not you fault, it's all me. Aside from what I just messed up, the rom is very good. You might try to shrink the apps with APK Manager though, not all but a few can be reduced in size. Precious system space...

Yeah I'm going to do that. I'm quite happy that FLB 1.31 is pretty stable for most people so I don't need to rush any fixed releases out yet. I'll do what I can about shrinking the system apps down and remove the HDPI images. I did this with the Music Mod and it cut the size down by half and it seems to be running better.

I still can't menage to shrink Contacts, Settings and Phone, been trying all day, the APK Manager developer also has no idea why this happens :) EDIT: And TouchPal as well, that reduces around 500 KB in size. If you want I can do some of the work and just send you the resized apps? Edited August 10, 2010 by igor_anta
Guest fredewis Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 wow flibb 1.31 is awesom you are the dude have no problems so far everything working and seems to be more stable no fc/waits and is fast aswel hahaha but there has always got to be a question lol 1.31 comes under 1.3 on system check? you are a miracle mate.
Guest jlgmax Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) I was running FLB 1.2 and was having no issues with FCs - the only issue I was having was the MMS one. I decided to upgrade to FLB 1.3 last night to see if that helped to resolve the MMS problem. Having used my phone during my journey to work this morning I can definitely say that FLB 1.3 is noticably slower than FLB 1.2 on my Pulse. Lag is most noticable when returning to the home screen from inside an app (can take up to 7-8 seconds to "re draw" the widgets and icons - much slower than FLB 1.2) and when typing messages using HTC keyboard in Handcent (slower/less fluid when typing). I have the same apps installed, same number of homescreens (3) and same items on the homescreens. My phone feels annoying slow now compared to how well it performed under FLB 1.2 ! Will I be able to flash back to FLB 1.2 now that I have installed FLB 1.3 ? Edited August 10, 2010 by jlgmax
Guest krfan Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 I would say that it's becoming clear you may have a hardware issue. You really should be able to flash the tre ROM on your device. I now currently have 2 Pulses with me. And you are dead right. One of them is having a hardware issue. Pulse #1: Successfully flashed 1.5 downgrade > Successfully flashed 1.5 December Update > Failed to flash 2.1 Tre/Official 2.1 UK ROM. Pulse #2: Successfully flashed 1.5 downgrade > Successfully flashed 1.5 December Update > Successfully flashed Official 2.1 UK ROM (i've yet to try the 2.1 Tre ROM though) What an experiment i made to determine the root of the problem. Now i'm going to try to flash the latest FLB mod into Pulse #2. I'll update you guys if it's successful :) P.S. oporto, if you're having the same problems as described as my Pulse #1, i guess it's highly likely that your phone has got a hardware failure.

I cannot advise you on how to do it correctly, but i know of a sure-work procedure, that is to do flash the 1.5 downgrade, then flash the 1.5 december update, followed by flashing a 2.1 Tre/UK, then finally flashing the custom ROM of your choice. I believe there's a shorter method for this lol, so please do correct me. Anyways, i've got a question: So with your current FLB 1.3, does your MMS work? Was it an APN problem, or was it the custom ROM version's problem?
Guest davbren Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Weird problem with 1.31. I get some acore crashes, they aren't constant but are at least once or twice a day. Also, with the music player. It keeps pausing then quitting then restarting then pausing again, its really difficult to get constant playback.

I reckon so too.... i had read somewhere that faulty nand memory was an issue with some early pulses so looks like I may have one of those and its only just come to light. I have reverted to the December update and will head into T-Mobile tomorrow with my receipt and see how i get on!!!!

Guest Simon O Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 im runin 1.3 but i want to test out minfreemanager wat settings should i use and will this inprove speed Try AutoKiller, it's much easier to use. Try the moderate settings first or even the optimal settings.
Guest krfan Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Now since i'm able to install the latest FLB mod, i'm experiencing one fundamental and most critical problem: My Pulse is not detecting my SIM card!! I live in Malaysia, btw. I tried putting the SIM card into my old phone to check if my SIM is faulty, but it isn't. Help, anyone??

As an update, Ive installed the stock launcher to see if this speeds things up and it is still sluggish. This is definitely slower than 1.2 TRE....! Please dont take this as a criticism, Im just posting my experience. Ive used every FLB since the betas and 2.1 TRE was the fastest so far (though admittedly I never tried 2.1 TMOB). Guest meinnit Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Fib, I just read your comments in 1st post about firmware in HU ROM. I'm on FLB 1.2 and not having any problems at all. Just wondering what sort of things the better firmware fixes? Is there any way of determining the firmware version or you're just assuming it's better because less people have reported problems on Tre/UK?

Lucky John strikes again :) I've only had mine back since 11th June after developing a earpiece fault. Thanks for those of you who offered suggestions and tried to help. On a plus side. FLB 1.2 is really good and is the nippiest ROM I've had on my phone.

Guest Daz555 Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) I'm currently on FLB v1.1 (HU v2.1 update). I use A2SD and currently have Dalvik cache on SD as well. Now I see a lot has happened whilst I was away for a few days (always the way!). Before I upgrade to FLB v1.31 I have a couple of choices. 1. Flash UK v2.1 (more data, less system memory) 2. Flash Tre v2.1 (more system, less data memory) Which should I choose, and why? Edited August 10, 2010 by Daz555
