It's NOT an app with launcher icon, dude!

You have to check it with Terminal Emulator, type these commands:

su

a2sd check

You'll see that it is working. You may want to free more space (if you have at least class4 SD card) by typing the following command to the same place:

su (only if you exited Terminal Emulator, if not, you don't need to)

a2sd cachesd

That's all.

thank you for your help,

i think i did it to work,

i am new to android

i run terminal icon and then

su

a2sd check

then i type

su

a2sd cachesd

and the phone after while reboot

i think i saw move dalvik to sd

i am ok now?

all the apps now going direct to sd??

thank you again

Yes.

Dalvik doesn't HAVE to be on SD though, I'm fine with that on device, still having 40MBs left for programs...

i had 74 mb free on internal memory and i download skyfire and now is 72 mb i think that again the application is in the phone memory not in the sd card.

my sd card was 1.9 mb before partition and now has 1.4 mb free and 512 mb ext2,nothing change on memory of the sd card.

what i am doing wrong?

thank you any way

Go to the terminal app and insert the command: "su" and press enter, then insert "a2sd check" (W/o quotes ofc) and press enter.

What does it report?

It might be that the dalvik cache is still stored on the internet memory, if so, go to the terminal and press "a2sd cachesd"

So everything is allright:

programs run from sd card

private programs run from sd card

dalvik rund from sd

What's the question? Why do you need even more free space then? How many apps do you have? How much more are you planning on using?!

The 512MB is "hidden" from the phone in terms of general use. When you see available storage going down from 72 to say 70MB free it is because of stuff like cache usage. To prove it yourself install a really big app - you will see it go down a lot less than the size of the app.

a2sd check confirms that it is working. Also an apps like CacheMate will clear down the caches from time to time if needed.

you mean that if i install a 10 mb application the memory from 74mb maybe goes 70mb ?

as i can understund the phone now use the "hidden" 512 mb from the sd card and if i install 100mb applications the internal phone memory maybe is 30-40 mb ?

i thought that the app that i download i would see them on sd menu not on the phone and that is the reason that i confused

thanks

It's a known problem with our phones. I get this every few days and I resolve it by clearing the cache, wiping dalvik-cache then rebooting the phone. Once booted I give it another reboot and performance is back to being good.

I'll give this a go, thanks fibble!

Edit: In ADW settings > System, there is an option to keep the launcher in memory. I've enabled it, and it seems to be working fine; I haven't had the homescreen have to reload itself yet ;)

Hi

Another "first post" here :)

First of all thanks to all of you for your hard work!

I'm using a Pulse U8220 (updated to 2.1 by T-Mobile HU before purchase) with FLB-Mod 1.5 (wiped and updated from 1.2) and I'm quite happy with it. I'd like to share my experiences and I would be happy to provide furher info about the problems described below, so please don't hesitate to tell me what other data (logs etc) should I serve. Full wipe and upgrading to 1.5 didn't help with any of these.

camera apps

3rdparty camera apps are freezing after a few shots, usually after the second. If the interval between the two shots is long enough then no error occurs. Otherwise the app force closes and the camera is blocked until the phone is rebooted. The error message when trying to open any camera apps is:

Camera Error
Cannot connect to camera
[OK][/codebox]

In [topic=311061]this thread[/topic] some posts mentions this problem.

It happens with every camera app I've tried so far. Touch focus is nice but 1 shot/reboot makes it hard to use :)

droidwall

If I try to apply settings in droidwall, the following error occurs:

[codebox]Error applying iptables rules.
Exit code: 1
iptables: No chain/target/match by that name

According to this post on xda-dev it seems that kernel doesn't support "owner" netfilter kernel module. Is it possible to make it work somehow? (in a next release maybe?)

Calendar

As described in these threads, syncing calendar events without reminders from the phone to google calendar does not work. After adding a reminder the do get synced. Syncing is turned on in settings, cache cleared, even wiped phone and reinstalled FLB-mod to no avail. Does this work for someone?

It works for me... But I sometimes have a problem with push gmail. All syncing is on. But then someone tells me that they sent me an email 10 minutes ago, I do a manual sync and then I get the email.

I'm quite sure it is caused by low mem - again

(GMail app is killed/restarted nad takes a while until sync starts again ;) )

Same problem for me.

I found a fix for this, I was having the same problem, only Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk from shadows rom actually do sync. I asked him where he got them, and he replied that they are from an native eclair build. I'll upload them if anyone else needs them.

P.S. I tried a couple different combinations, and only those seem to work with our Pulses.

This Calendar app works for me

Make sure to clear dalvik-cache after copying, and remove the .odex files (if there are any).

Just flashed the FLB MOD 1.5 (T-Mo UK 2.1 update, wiped everything before flashing). So far I love the way it looks and feels. I have one small issue though: after flashing the rom, the ringtone volume got noticeably quieter than before (FLB MOD 1.3, T-Mo HU 2.1 update). Anybody got any ideas and/or a way to fix it?

I think I might be missing something here, but how do I partition my SD card from ClockworkMod Recovery?

Never mind, I'm a silly goose. Was trying to do it through the recovery instead of using the option in ROMManager.

0MB swap, right? Also, my phone doesn't want to automatically reboot. Both quickboot and ROMManager are failing to reboot the handset.

It appears that, somehow, I no longer have root after flashing FLB 1.5 via ClockWork.

Confirmed, no root on my FLB 1.5 install. What do?

Fixed again, didn't realise I had to do a full wipe.

We all know how to move dalvik cache to SD with A2SD.That is NOT the issue.

What we do not know is how to delete cache partition that is still filling up (that 80 MB cache partiton).Said partition is actually directory /data/data/ there is a lot of s*** in it.I know that apps use it for cache, but how can we know what is safe to delete. One I deleted it whole, and guess what. It's like I've done factory reset.Boom, and all my apps went missing, all my settings etc.I even lost superuser rights.

So.What is safe to delete in /data/data directory.Moving apps and dalvik cache to SD card doesn't have much point, if I can't install apps as much as I want to.

Thanks for reply.

Thanks!

I deleted this files from system/app folder, then copy your files there, wipe dalvik cache; reboot and calendar is not working (not start the calendar app).

Then I reinstall the flb-mod 1.5 (full wipe), and now calendar synchronizing is correct. I don't understand.

Just a quick update.

I tried Fibble's method of wiping the cache and Dalvik from the recovery menu, and rebooted a couple of times.

Things definitely feel smoother for now :P
