Guest DanWilson Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 How do you move Dalvik to internal memory ?? It's already there unless you installed A2SD+ or did it manually. Although please correct me if I'm wrong! ;)
Guest Richard van Nieuwenhuizen Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) Yes. Use another ROM as this one has white backgrounds. ;) Guys I've removed Beta 4 from the first page. It's unstable even for me so I've been working hard on fixing the bugs. Next release will take a little longer but I'll try and get it done soon. I'm running Beta4 since it has come out. Apart from the initial boot errors (FC's all over the place :( ) I have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS. Battery time is excellent by the way. That doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to an update though :D :) Maybe the flip over calendar from the stock rom in there??!! Edited June 22, 2010 by Richard van Nieuwenhuizen
Guest biron_w Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 Maybe the flip over calendar from the stock rom in there??!! I'd like the "my calendar" app from the stock rom as I thought it was great.
Guest Mannuz Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 How do you move Dalvik to internal memory ?? If you are running beta4 you have to remove these three files from /system/etc/init.d/ : 02cachedalvikcache, 40a2sd and 99complete then reboot the phone. I assume that you already have an ext2 or ext partition on the sd-card Start 'adb shell' on your computer and run command 'a2sd check' If the result looks like this Apps - [*] Linked to SD Card. [*] File .noa2sd not found. [*] Programs run from SD card To run from internal storage, type a2sd remove Private Apps - [*] Linked to SD Card. [*] File .noa2sd not found. [*] Private Programs run from SD card To run from internal storage, type a2sd remove Dalvik Cache - [*] Regular directory. [*] File .dalvikcache not found. [!] Dalvik runs from Int. Storage. [/codebox] then everything is ok. If it looks like this: [codebox] [X] Dalvik runs from SD. then you have to run 'a2sd repair'
Guest daimon Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Thx for reply Mannuz !! seems everything its ok... ;)
Guest masterpfa Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) Hi, a bit late to the party I know, but I thought I would read the tread from start to finish before jumping in. I have been on Sh4d0w940 Vanilla 2.1 ROM update 8 and had the occasional restart and or FC, but as the pulse was my second phone I didn't find this a problem, however yesterday when forced to use this as my main phone, I found this totally unworkable. My preference is for Vanilla styled ROMS, which I have on my Hero (VanillaEclair 4.0 now with working A2DP) It's a shame @flibblesan that you removed Beta V4 as being a fresh install for me I was going to see if the issues stated here would have affected me too (yes I have been reading this thread for about 3 days on and off) 1 request, does anyone have a copy of V4 I can download to try? Failing that I will try the latest currently posted version V3 ;) Edited June 23, 2010 by masterpfa

Guest brack Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Quick question to those who might have an experience: when apps from system/app upgrading via market I understand they are installed on sd card, in system/sd/app so, the question is what's with old versions in system/app? would it harm the system if I simply remove them?

Guest Richard van Nieuwenhuizen Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I've tried to get that working but the widget fails to display. I read in another topic it has to do with LauncherPro incompatibility! As always, every upside has his downside. ;)
Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I read in another topic it has to do with LauncherPro incompatibility! As always, every upside has his downside. ;) It doesn't work with ADW either. I think this is because the widget is classed as being an EmotionWidget which only work using the Emotion Launcher (the original Huawei 2.1 launcher).

Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Works on T-Mo ROM with ADW Launcher. Interesting. I'll have to install the latest ADW and give it a try.
Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) Interesting. I'll have to install the latest ADW and give it a try. Still didn't work. I'll have to work on this. Edit: Got it working with LauncherPro. I had to add the Huawei framework jars back into the ROM. Initially this broke the system as the .odex files no longer worked (not sure why). Restored the original non de-odexed files and system boots. Good job I keep a rar with unmodified files ;) Edited June 23, 2010 by flibblesan
Guest daimon Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 flibblesan great job man ! we wait .. a new ROM with that ;)

Guest EvilGazebo Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Hello Tempted to try this ROM as I'm a big vanilla fan and it looks really good; thanks to flibblesan. But the Pulse is my only phone so before I take several hours out of my life to switch (again) I have one question: Can someone tell me if the hold and mute buttons are available in-call with this ROM? They are greyed out (for me anyway) on Paul's still excellent MDC 2.1 ROM...... Cheers
Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 No no no...no pink ;) PLOX I'll see what I can do.
Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) Some update news. As requested I've added the Huawei widgets back into the ROM. This adds the popular(?) flip calendar and the clock with different faces! Had to add some Huawei framework jars to the ROM but these don't increase size by that much. Removed VoiceSearchWithKeyboard as it was causing problems for some people. Put LatinIME back into the rom to give an Android keyboard and also added Google Voice Search from the Market to /data so you can easily remove it if it causes you problems. Settings application has been replaced with the RMB2 version but I may reverse this decision. The RMB2 version has a bit of green in places which may not be popular with some people. Edited build.prop to give black text on the notification bar and black menus throughout the system. MMS application replaced with T-Mobile version to prevent issues with buttons not displaying text. Live Wallpapers are back, including the popular Nexus animation. LauncherPro updated to 0.6.2 which keeps itself in memory by default. Removed the local.prop tweaks due to this. (it was default. The developer changed this due to problems with other devices...) ROM is fully compatible with the new custom frameworks made by ogiogi. A2SD fixed and works like it does with beta3. No more FCs like beta4. Edited June 23, 2010 by flibblesan
Guest R_A_V Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Could not find option 'Quiet ring on pickup' (should be in Settings > Sound & Display). How can I disable this annoying option???

Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 ETA? And how much data will be lost from the update? As with all other updates it will require a full wipe.
