Guest dobre Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Some update news. As requested I've added the Huawei widgets back into the ROM. This adds the popular(?) flip calendar and the clock with different faces! Had to add some Huawei framework jars to the ROM but these don't increase size by that much. Removed VoiceSearchWithKeyboard as it was causing problems for some people. Put LatinIME back into the rom to give an Android keyboard and also added Google Voice Search from the Market to /data so you can easily remove it if it causes you problems. Settings application has been replaced with the RMB2 version but I may reverse this decision. The RMB2 version has a bit of green in places which may not be popular with some people. Edited build.prop to give black text on the notification bar and black menus throughout the system. MMS application replaced with T-Mobile version to prevent issues with buttons not displaying text. Live Wallpapers are back, including the popular Nexus animation. LauncherPro updated to 0.6.2 which keeps itself in memory by default. Removed the local.prop tweaks due to this. (it was default. The developer changed this due to problems with other devices...) ROM is fully compatible with the new custom frameworks made by ogiogi. A2SD fixed and works like it does with beta3. No more FCs like beta4. This are changes in beta3 or changes in new beta4 that will come soon?
Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 This are changes in beta3 or changes in new beta4 that will come soon? Neither. These are changes for beta5.
Guest daimon Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 flibblesan .."Live Wallpapers are back, including the popular Nexus animation." Hope this time the Nexus animation live wallpaper will work !! in original HU 2.1 ROM after some minute`s the nexus animation wallpaper stop working... *fibblesan go go go .. with beta5 ;) thx you for your hard work .. to develope and maintaine this ROM !!
Guest DanWilson Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 As with all other updates it will require a full wipe. ETA?
Guest giabbe1 Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Am I the only one who saw performance decreases with newer versions of this rom? I had this impression and therefore reistalled beta1: for me it is much much faster than the following releases.. do u have any ideas of the reason?
Guest masterpfa Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) Neither. These are changes for beta5. :( JUST as I decide to join the party, just as I've finished installing (still installing) V4 I hear of a Beta 5 ;) I should be used to that with ROMS. Watching this space... EDIT Where are my manners @flibblesan thanks for the ROM looking good so far. Are there any installed apps I should NOT remove i.e. the installed mail client Edited June 23, 2010 by masterpfa
Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 ETA? No idea at the moment. In other news I'm replacing LauncherPro with ADW. Why? Simply because LauncherPro has become too bloated and needs a lot of configuration now to have it working like it used to. Also it still doesn't work right as a system app. ADW has a dedicated system app version, runs as quick as LauncherPro and doesn't turn a load of useless options on by default. rip launcherpro. I remember when you used to be good.

Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Yea! So what you doing that'll take long? Running the rom on my phone until tomorrow afternoon to make sure it's stable. So far I've not had any problems but you never know.

Guest demetr1os Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 I am looking forward for your new rom. I have Beta 4 for a week now and it is really fast, but unfortunately a lot of FC. I want to move to Beta 5 BUT I do not want to loose all my application, I have almost 50 apps, What can I do to backup everything??

Guest rrcarter Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 beta 5 looks great, one thing though it seems the camera app is missing
Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) beta 5 looks great, one thing though it seems the camera app is missing Oh how odd. Seems like this camera app doesn't like being deodexed. I'll upload a fixed ROM plus a small update to fix the camera for those that have already downloaded beta5. FLB-MOD v1.0 beta5 Camera app fix - flbmod_beta5_camera_fix.zip Flash via recovery. Does not delete anything apart from the broken camera app. and ROM updated: http://www.multiupload.com/81ZNPEHAUU FLB-MOD_v1.0beta5.1 it's .1 because I broke one app and hardly warrants a larger version jump. Guest Simon O Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) IGNORE IGNORE. IT'S BROKEN ON OUR DEVICES Newsflash. Darktremor A2SD was updated recently. I didn't notice until now so sadly haven't added this version to the ROM yet. However if you want to try it out you can grab it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=670087 and notice that FLB-MOD is listed on that page ;) This version adds support for running dalvik-cache from the /cache partition. Unfortunately this partition on our phones is too small so this will fail (well, did for me). Edited June 27, 2010 by flibblesan
Guest flip360 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 just trying it, seems smooth, bit bulky by my taste but quite, quite ok. goes very well with the white espresso theme from ogiogi ;) i saw that adwlauncher 0.8.7 is out, any chance of standalone? thanks fibblesan
Guest biron_w Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) I see you've added a custom boot screen to beta5. And beta5 is excellent. Seems much quicker than beta4 and ADW launcher is a good addition too. And obviously I like the addition of the My Calendar Widget ;) Very nice :( Edited June 24, 2010 by biron_w

Currently it hasn't been done :( It does seem quicker. Initial boot needs some time to cache some non-deodexed files but once done it's speedy. The latest A2SD seems quicker also. It still doesn't move dalvik to SD automatically though. I could do with a little application for changing the Darktremor A2SD settings without using terminal or ADB. flip360: Could you please tell me what you find to be bulky about the rom please? Guest Keynun Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Absolutely love this rom, moved to beta 3 at first which was not going well (aots of crashes, possibly due to my slow SD card which has now been replaced) but beta 5 has so far been faultless and also seems to be faster/smoother than beta3. Excellent work, my pulse now feels perfect ;)
Guest demetr1os Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 I have 4 reboot in 30 min, and for me it seems to be slower than beta 4. Really I like the new widgets.. I hope that it will be ok later with the reboots. regards
Guest flip360 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 well i personally dont like the my collection widgets and would prefer root explorer over astro but thats just my taste ;)
Guest Simon O Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 well i personally dont like the my collection widgets and would prefer root explorer over astro but thats just my taste ;) Root Explorer is a paid for app sadly. As for the widgets if you don't use them they won't take up any memory. They are extremely small on the system anyway.

Guest demetr1os Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Did you do a full wipe of your device from the recovery? Did you use anything like titanium backup to restore apps and settings? The strange is that when i made a wipe and after an update to new rom, when pulse turn all my apps where there, without doing anything. I am 100% sure that i made i wipe. I will try it again and I will tell you. Ps: I used titanium backup for my apps and Astro manager. But i didnt restore anything...strange..
