The 6.1 rom was "Official 2.1" shoehorned into the 1.5 pulse.

That's why it lagged and crashed so much ;)

Ahh OK. Will try installing the Hungarian update and then give the ROM another go.

Fbl...one question to you mate

Are you using some kind of AutoKiller or similar app?

Beta 5 is first ROM that I installed and I didn't install AutoKiller (I was using that app).

For now it is working fine with no lag or any other issue, but I'm wondering should I install AutoKiller again.

Though I think with auto killer some apps didn't stayed opened (like Nimbuzz for example when I try to run Nimbuzz and Browser at the same time).

So I would like to hear your advice about this subject.

Regards

May not be the advise your looking for but I suggest just having a manual task killer on hand. "Taskiller" offers a mini task bar widget that shows you what apps are running and you just press it to close it.

Nope I never use any autokiller or anything like that.

I've also stopped using them since I figured out that they only mess with Androids memory management - which is quite good ;)

Btw. installed beta5.1, booted, no FC's ;), installed few apps, no FC's :(, installed Espresso theme, no FC's :), calendar - fast, wifi - fast :D, new widgets - tested and I like them :D especially that Weather widget that takes only one row on screen ... so far, so good :( have to see how alarm and gmail sync will behave (I had it activated all the time but it was misbehaving - little bastard ;))

Thx for another great ROM update flibblesan!

I think that I am the only who has problems. I have random reboots and when the phone turn on different FCs... I do not know what to do.(WIped twice) but still same problems....

Using Beta 3, with LauncherPro, don't think I'll ever upgrade, save for maybe, 2.2.

The only problems I have are directly related to the low RAM of the pulse, but every thing is so smooth. It's amazing!

I had a lot of issues with beta 3. Turned out they were caused by the app ''Backgrounds'' - Apparently setting a wallpaper that is too large, causes FCs and reboots 0_o

Anyway, grabbed beta 5, steered clear of that app (as well as any OC/memory managing apps) and it's silky smooth! Thanks for another great update

Ah the Wallpaper issue! There is suppose to be an option in LauncherPro or AWD that prevents crashes when using a large wallpaper.

Personally I resize wallpapers to 480x640 on my PC then transfer to the pulse. The wallpaper looks better and uses less memory.

Exact amount I have no idea but I do know that using a large image means the phone has to fit the larger image into memory and resize it on the fly.

Try this one:

Hi everybody

I'm using this beta5.1 rom and i have some problems:

- I always had this problem (http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile-pulse-pulse-modaco-com/310721/ringing-problem/), but now with this rom ringing goes down after 2 seconds, always, not sometimes.

- second, scrolling through menu is slower than in beta3 or beta4. I made the three wipes before installing this rom.

Question: Is there some app like phone, ringer or something like that, that i will use to change my old one, with intention to solve my first problem with ringing, which irritate me.

Could someone link me to a black theme that works on this rom? Do all themes for stock android work?

Hmm. I've had 3 instances where I've had to pull out the battery because my phone froze. Never had this on beta 3. Anyone else having this problem?

Exactly what did you do with the phone before the freezing?

It happens on every 2.1 custom rom including the official..

Happens mostly when using the Market, Facebook and the stock browser

I'm guessing you were trying to re-download your apps? ;)

It's a lot to ask but could someone create a quick guide on how to flash a black theme (popular one, Espresso maybe)? This rom is probably the best 2.1 out there but many people including me would probably want a black theme, so a guide would really help.

Thanks

I was using the Colornote app (restored through Titaniumbackup), market, but there was also one instance where I was simply on the home screen. I'll keep an eye out to see if it happens on any other apps as well.

Oh well, still happier with 2.1 over 1.5 ;)

Semi-related question: Does anyone else find returning to the homescreen from an app takes a while? I've had situations where I push the hardware 'home' button, and nothing seems to happen for about 5 seconds. Then I get a black home screen, after which it finally loads up. Or do you reckon my widgets are to blame for this?

Many thanks for this excellent ROM (I have installed Beta 5.1) flibblesan - appreciate all the hard work and TESTING you have put into this and it definitely shows in the performance of your ROM!!!

Anyway, my only question concerns the ringtone. I do notice a slight delay as to when there is an incoming call and when it starts ringing (which is not a problem for me, as used to even longer lags on other ROMs). However, what is annoying me is that it starts off fairly quiet when it does ring, and then gets increasingly louder the longer I leave it (or maybe it just gets really loud after about 2/3 secs).

My question is, is there anyway to disable the ringtone going from quiet to really loud (as it really distorts the sound of the ringtone!).

Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work all!!!

Hi flibblesan,

sorry, but my english is not good! I come from Germany. Your ROM is the best what i had tested. It's very fast and without bugs! I have installed the new version v1.0 beta 5.1 and i must say that all other ROM', i tested, are not so good. That's a great work! Thank You!
