Just wanted to say thanks for your work on these roms, I've only had my Pulse 3 weeks and up till yesterday I'd been running Beta 3 with no issues (I binned the stock rom after 2 days!). I installed Beta5 last night and so far this is the best rom I've used - very smooth and fast.

Great work, keep it up ;)

I second that, wheresmyhead. This ROM really is the dogs. I was getting quite a few FCs with R3 and R4, but R5 is fast and stable. Great work, flibblesan. Cheers, mate. :(

And from the other threads it looks like Froyo dev is moving forward at lightning speed. Kinda hope they don't go too quick or we won't have time to emjoy 2.1 ;)

Or you could just enjoy FLB-MOD Froyo edition :(

(of course this depends on us having a working U8220 Froyo code base to work from. But it's on my list of things to do.)

Well it's only a day since I installed this ROM and I like it so far. The battery is lasting at least 50% longer with this ROM than the stock one.

Anyway, my only question concerns the ringtone. I do notice a slight delay as to when there is an incoming call and when it starts ringing (which is not a problem for me, as used to even longer lags on other ROMs). However, what is annoying me is that it starts off fairly quiet when it does ring, and then gets increasingly louder the longer I leave it (or maybe it just gets really loud after about 2/3 secs).

My question is, is there anyway to disable the ringtone going from quiet to really loud (as it really distorts the sound of the ringtone!).

Not sure about the first question but the extreme loudness and distortion may be caused by the audio volume tweaks I added to the rom. I need to investigate this.

Thanks for the reply flibblesan.

...that makes sense! Played around a bit more, and it appears the loudness tweaks make my ringtones so loud that the speaker cant cope - and hence the distortion. If I set the ringtone volume lower then the speaker can cope and there is less (or no) distortion!

So I guess no need to waste your precious time flibblesan - if anything it proves your loudness tweak def. works (appears to "kick-in" after the first 2/3 seconds as at the beginning the volume is low as people have complained on other ROMs).

Thanks for your great work once again!!! ;)

One full day now with beta5.1 and no problems except one tiny issue ;)

I'm not that picky about launchers and AWD works fine for me (once I turned off that dockbar :() - but I

noticed that it's unloaded from memory very often when some app is started for a bit longer (1-2+ minutes).

It behaves like there is no ro.HOME_APP_ADJ tweak there? Is this an issue with AWD specifically or am I missing something?

I have 4 or 5 widgets over 5 screen so it's not catastrophically slow - but it can be a bit annoying.

Are you aware that you can use any launcher you want? You just have to install it like any other app from the market, and then the system will ask which one to use. I don't even like the idea of integrating Lancherpro into the rom, since it's much easier to update it when it's not integrated. So i'm happy with adw as default, because then you can just safely ignore it :(

I know, I know - I was just asking about that unloading  AWD is OK by me as far as functionality goes!

But that unloading - ah ... it's just a bit annoying :D

The ro.HOME_APP_ADJ tweak has been removed as both LauncherPro and ADW have built-in features for keeping in memory.

I also noticed this behavior and didnt know that ADJ tweak been removed, I dont think the program itself has the ability to stay in memory, or at least something wrong with it. Will try to ad the tweak above tomorrow or tonight will report it later on.

But I must say that I liked ADW way more than LauncherPro. ADW has got features that LauncherPro doesnt have and development of ADW is more rapid, and a lot of new features and improvements coming soon I believe. The Launcher itself is not faster or smoother than LauncherPro but all other programs on my Pulse became smoother with ADW, I could also setup desctop the way I like it. A little something to share: did you try to make desktop with only three columns? It is so cool! normal 2x2 clock look larger and nicer! I also liked the new doc bar, you can put as many items there as you want, the problem then is to remember all of them. No FCs so far.

ADW 0.8.8 flashable ZIP for FLB-ROM users. here

Flashable or extract Launcher.apk from the zip and push to your phone using adb.

ADW is a very good launcher. Eventually I'd like to compile it myself and fully integrate it into the system like Cyanogen do. But I'd need vendor files so I can compile Android for our devices. So far Huawei have been lazy.

Many thanks for this excellent ROM (I have installed Beta 5.1) flibblesan - appreciate all the hard work and TESTING you have put into this and it definitely shows in the performance of your ROM!!!

Anyway, my only question concerns the ringtone. Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work all!!!

I've got the same issue and I'm still using the beta3 version so I don't think the problem is the audio trick that you add on beta 5.

Any other idea?

ThAnks for everything

Flashable or extract Launcher.apk from the zip and push to your phone using adb.

Either way, flash or push for me results in version 0.8.7

Another thing - can you publish changelog here as well? otherwise I have to go to the market every time to see it.

Excellent Rom. I only have one problem ... can't find the market app 9 vending.apk) ... Anywhere I can get it or anything I've done wrong?

Cheers.

FOUND It in the zip and reinstalled it.

The author of LPro has removed that setting to be default, you have to set it in the settings. But it's possible, that the launcherpro setting makes it really unkillable, which is bad. The app_adj tweak just makes it harder to kill, but it will go if necessary.

I was talking about ADW, didnt have that problem with LPro but then I had ADJ tweak also
